While I'm relaxing at our current apartment pool. Curious what others think about this-the entire pool chair were empty except for me. This person chose to sit this close to me and has been talking on her phone the entire time. If it were me, I would have chosen to sit farther away, thoughts?

That was tricky! But this does track, as pretty much anyone that hears me assumes I'm from the Midwest. I do know that I still have a little Jersey in me. Like, occasionally soda still comes out of my mouth instead of pop.😁

If you haven't watched Hugh Howey's
YouTube channel he has a video that he made after season 2 was over where he openly admitted to approving and suggesting plot points and changes with the sole purpose of screwing around with us readers.
And honestly I'm here for it, I don't watch adaptations to see the same story again and this show does very well at telling the story of the books while playing to the specific strengths of the TV format.

Continuing my Minnesota love was this yesterday.😊
I've shared my love for the Minneapolis airport many times before on here, but I can't see myself ever not loving this airport. I've been using it since 1987, so l've seen it go through plenty of changes over the years, but it continues to improve itself with each and every change.
Today I want tof
ve a shout out to the people (typically people that look older than 1 am
that work the
information kiosks. I always walk around when I have longer layovers,
looking at anyt
ing and everything. Joday in my 4bish minute walk noticed numerous
information des
Jeople smiling, helping people by highlighting on a paper map, helping
someone bet
nowheeled by another airport employee-really checking in with that
employee and giving the traveler a smile and a thumbs up before they got on the tram.
I'm sure that happens at other airports too, and I know I'm biased, but it seems all sorts of extra special here at MSP
Also, the amount of public artwork here, never disappoints me.
I'mflying to Rochester from here because I'm trying to support small airports so they don't disappear, and this way I don't have to rent a car, and Claire doesn't have to drive an hour to pick me up. The airfare was the same to RST as it was to MSP.Screen shot of a DM conversation...

Thank you for this shoutout! Our Airport Foundation MSP volunteers are truly incredible.
Many are retired airline staff who want to stay connected to the airport environment. Others just love the opportunity to interact with and help people. We wouldn't be an award-winning airport without them. Safe travels!

You are so welcome! If there is anyway to give the man that works at the kiosk in this area a shoutout, please do! He was the one I saw this morning between 8:30-9:30am, I could just tell he truly enjoys helping people, it made me smile!

"Piney" is a term for inhabitants of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, historically used as a derogatory slur for rural residents but now often embraced as a point of local pride and cultural identity. These residents traditionally lived off the land, collecting moss and pine cones, and were unfairly stigmatized by early 20th-century eugenics studies. Wikipedia +3
Key aspects of Piney culture and history include:
• Origin: The term originated in the early 20th century, with outsiders using it to describe inhabitants as "inbreds" or "degenerates".
• Stigma and Eugenics: In 1913, Governor James Fielder and early 20th-century studies (like "The Kallikak Family") targeted residents, trying to label them as genetically inferior and encouraging sterilization, notes research highlighted in.
Ask anything
head down to my hiney!".
• Traditional Life: Historically, Pineys were known for surviving in the challenging, san environment of the Pine Barrens by hunting, fishing, and working with the land.

Right, so if this person just looked up the lyrics, they may have only discovered the explicit versions, which may not be what he actually sang on TV, that's why I'm trying to find out exactly which version he sang last night on TV. Does that make sense?
We watched it knowing we were not going to understand any of it. But then | looked up the lyrics. I wouldn't listen to any of his songs if they were in English. I thought WAP was bad, but his are way worse. Definitely wouldn't be allowed at the half time show if it was in English.

So, today's the day my dad passed way 6 years ago. Someone of the recipients of the "You Are Special" award are out here in the BlueSky universe. May this be your reminder today to let someone know how special they are to you, because the more you repeat it, the more they'll believe it.💖
So, after my dad passed away in January of 2020. I decided to do something called the "You are Special" gift. At the end of every January since he passed away I have sent one person around $30-40 in honor of my dad and told them this story about him.
And told them to do whatever they want with the money in a way that makes them feel special somehow. (Melisa was a recipient the year after her dadSomething that I have been thinking about a lot is how pretty much every time I said good-bye to my dad or was on the phone with him, he would tell me that I was special. He would say something like, "You are special, Kory, you always have been, you always are. You are a special person." Truth is I have no idea whether or not he said things like that to Britt and Bobby too, but I chose to believe him. And, I think the way I am going to give honor to him is by making a very conscious effort to make others feel as special as he made me feel. Because feeling special is pretty powerful.
Jun 21, 2020 - 21
I still have a letter that my dad wrote to me on July 12, 1991. It was right after I had graduated from Luther and I was a nanny for a family on Lake Minnetonka. I hadn't found a teaching job yet and wasn't sure what I was going to do come fall. A lot of the letter told me about how things were back at home, but he also wrote this, "Keep plugging away at it. At graduation | didn't really get a chance to tell you how proud I was of you. You have always been special. I can never remember you not doing the right thing. A parent can't ask for any more than that.
You'll find out things don't always work out just like we want them to, but that doesn't mean that they're not working out. Do the right thing and things will work out when they should." At that point of my very young life on my own, those were the exact words I very much needed to hear. And I still use the part about things will work out when they should to encourage others and to help remind myself too when things aren't going so great. I have learned so much from my dad-the value of volunteering and being involved in your kids' activities, being able to speak up and share your opinion, not always going with what the majority opinion might be, to appreciate life for what it is and not dwell on what it isn't and so much more. Truly blessed on this Father's Day and every day. I love you, Dad.Robert Andersen
You still are special. You made your Dad's life better and continue to do so.

This is why being told to "calm down" often misses the point.
The issue isn't heightened emotion.
It's sustained cognitive engagement with unresolved data.
Stepping back can sometimes be necessary-not to disengage from reality, but to reduce continuous processing when input becomes relentless.

Some people can treat politics as background noise.
For a lot of neurodivergent people, instability doesn't stay abstract.
It becomes a pattern the brain keeps trying to finish.

For many ND people, justice sensitivity is a core cognitive priority.
Fairness, consistency, and ethical logic are treated as high-salience information.
When systems violate their own stated rules, that discrepancy is flagged and retained.
This isn't emotional intensity.
It's how importance is assigned.childhoodelevated •

Many ND brains are oriented toward coherence.
We look for stable logic, internal consistency, and explanations that align over time.
Rapid reversals, contradictions, and unclear intent create unresolved informational loops.
The brain keeps working-not out of fear, but because the pattern is incomplete.

"Believe me, if I could reach into my pocket and pull out the necessary many millions of dollars to run as an independent, I would," Madel said. "But again, reality guides my decision."
He thanked his supporters and said he would return "every penny" contributed to his campaign back to donors.
