Indoor Garden Guy @koryk.bsky.social · 30/03/2025Trying something new- Left side, added ~1/4 inch chunky perlite to top of good soil, dropped in a bunch of arugula seeds, and then watered with higher pressure (to bury seeds). Fabric pot on top of bottom-up self-watering system. Now we see what happens… 🌱 030

Indoor Garden Guy @koryk.bsky.social · 29/01/2025My plants are evidence that if I had a bear, I would most certainly over-water it. 000
Indoor Garden Guy @koryk.bsky.social · 29/01/2025Lettuce. Should have a lot more, but the bottom-watering of these planters, combined with not enough perlite in the soil, lead to many of the seeds failing due to excess water. Always learning. 110
Indoor Garden Guy @koryk.bsky.social · 14/01/2025This week’s wisdom from “The Philosopher’s Deck” 😁🌱 000
Indoor Garden Guy @koryk.bsky.social · 14/01/2025This is a failure. One plant out of 10 seeds. What happened? I’ve been experimenting with bottom-watering for convenience, but the soil is not draining fast enough and the seeds/seedlings received too much moisture. Moving forward, I’ll amend the soil with more perlite Always learning. 140
Indoor Garden Guy @koryk.bsky.social · 10/01/2025Indoor growing tip: Don’t buy big grow lights, even if you have the space. Buy multiple smaller lights. When a single big light goes down, they are expensive to replace and your entire grow area goes dark until the replacement arrives. Multiple lights allow modular lighting and replacement. 🌱 040
Indoor Garden Guy @koryk.bsky.social · 10/01/2025Growing plants is like growing wealth. Both require a plan, constant attention, patience, and faith that what you are doing will have a worthwhile result. Both can go sideways due to no fault of your own. Both make all the work worthwhile when it does actually bear fruit. 💰 🌱 040
Indoor Garden Guy @koryk.bsky.social · 09/01/2025Growing plants indoors requires ongoing cleanup- leaves, dropped flowers, and stray dirt can quickly take over. Part of the process is regularly picking up debris, trimming leaves, and keeping it all looking organized. A shop vac helps. 🙂 #gardening #plants 🌱 050

Indoor Garden Guy @koryk.bsky.social · 02/01/2025Big fan of “Big Leaf Energy” spray. Neem oil based, but without the horrid smell of neem oil. I’m impressed with how well it knocked out a recent spider mite invasion. Expensive by the bottle, but their concentrate is reasonably priced. Random tip from my journey of indoor #gardening 🌱 😁 220
Indoor Garden Guy @koryk.bsky.social · 02/01/2025Does my celery plant have a trunk? This one has been going for years and still produces perfectly fine stalks. Indoor Garden Guy @koryk.bsky.social · 22/11/2024Some of my favorite plants are in my office. A good example- two English Ivy plants growing up a metal rod in our meeting room for local clients. The “spotlights” are actually LED grow lights. I love the shadows the lights cast on the walls. Office #plants make work so much better. 🌱 020
Indoor Garden Guy @koryk.bsky.social · 22/11/2024One of the challenges of indoor gardening is space. I planted some sugar snap peas and they are taking over- climbing on every other plant as they grow towards the lights. I could cut them back, but I respect their ambition. 😁 #gardening overly ambitious #plants 021
Indoor Garden Guy @koryk.bsky.social · 22/11/2024Help. I feel like my lemon plant has WAY too many flowers. There’s no way it can sustain this, right? Too much fertilizer? Too much light? 🤷🏻♂️ How do I find a lemon tree expert on Bluesky? 🍋 On a plus side, my garage smells amazing. 120
