My cocktail of choice for when I watch #TheTraitors, I think the Dirty Martini is a traitor cocktail. What would be the faithful cocktail?

Tteokguk for new years! Eaten on New Year’s Day for good fortune in Korea. It’s essentially a beef soup with rice cakes and added dumplings. After 2024, I’ll do anything for this year to be better, this soup, not washing my hair until tomorrow etc 😬

Good morning! With the worst breakfast I’ve ever paid money for. This is meant to be an omelette! 😀 What went wrong? 🤔 I reckon: - person who cooked it isn’t a chef - they put milk in the egg like it’s scrambled eggs - the tomato and mushroom added even more moisture - no salt

Tonkatsu lunch. Lining up behind the people eating at the counter, tiny tiny space, all but a couple office workers in the area, only open for a few hours a day. Incredibly juicy and crispy tonkatsu. Very nice miso broth. What a way to start the day.

Went to Tsukiji market which was a nice way to spend half an hour in the morning. Everything was good apart from this. This was so SWEET 😭. We had to discreetly put the rest in the package I had the daifuku in to dispose later as it was so not our thing. 😬

The Holdovers. Like chicken soup for the soul ❤️ I’m glad I didn’t watch it earlier in the year and instead kept it for Christmas. Between the beautiful mono sound mix and it feeling like it was shot on film, it’s everything I’d want for the holidays.

I always found it weird that the banoffee pie isn’t something adopted by Americans. It has all the hallmarks of a good old fashioned American pie yet the Brits have full custody. Anyway, maybe give it a go for Thanksgiving?

Two weeks until Tokyo 😱 the list is so long and I have to do some admin, too long to even fit on one screen. (Half of it is also on my maps as pins) conversely, I’ve only booked 3 things in advance because I don’t want my decisions from months ago to dictate my holiday.

My fave #horror of 2024 so far has been a really low budget one. Oddity had me hiding behind my blanky for parts of it, showing you that money won’t make a film scarier, if that’s how you measure a good horror. In fact, that is why I LOVE this genre so much. Reminded me of Hammer Horror. #Shudder

Tonight’s dinner: Super spicy wings and tteokbokki. Using the extra spicy gochujang quite liberally was not something my stomach appreciated but it was very tasty.

Every few months I think about the original cherry coke can design. It was so different and kind of crazy. I loved it. I think it tasted better back then.
