When I watch a new film and spot parallels, I immediately recall the relevant scene from the other film; it’s like overlaying a matching, identical memory card. I finally watched Backrooms, and immediately remembered AKIRA. Would love to know if Kane Parsons had this scene in mind, too. #sidebyside

Hallway in the film Backrooms, with some lights are being turned off in the center, making that portion look like a black or dark square, with the light of the other, functional ceiling lamps still visible behind and in front of that darker section. There's also a doorway, with light coming out right in that dark, shadowy square space, too.

A similar scene can be witnessed in the film AKIRA; the hospital hallway, after Tetsuo killed a bunch of doctors / hospital workers with his powers. It's also a long hallway, with some hallway ceiling lights being destroyed/turned off, only to show like a dark, shadowy square in the center of that hallway. No bright doorway in that dark section, but a kneeling Tetsuo tho.

Breakfast from the French bakery—so fresh it’s still warm—then eating in the sun by the canal in Dole. It was so beautiful here. 🥲❤️🥐

Some fresh croissants, some éclair, baguettes, brioche suisse, tartelette framboise?! Delicious!

A small cake covered with a kind of cream—like a "Nussecke"—topped with a thin layer of fruit cream (similar to jam), followed by fresh raspberries and powdered sugar. It was fantastic!

It was fantastic, Edouard! It was great to see the dedication with which the museum team painted the walls to complement the artworks and staged them with lighting. They put a lot of effort into it. Wonderful to see so much interest in our profession, too; the exhibition was well-attended that day ❤️

Exactly! It feels great to see such appreciation for one's profession. Unfortunately, that isn't the norm. They really put a lot of effort into this! I hope it pays off for the museum and that there are more exhibitions like this in the future.

It was really great to see people of all ages—and obviously not just those from the gaming industry—having so much fun at the exhibition. It was well-attended, and the museum staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Truly a great team! ❤️😌 CTRL+ALT+ART.

Some older ladies taking a closer look at the clay sculpts done for Dishonored 2, having a good time examining all the details, smiling.

A bunch of younger kids, staning in front of a Playstation 5, playing Creaks, helping each other solving riddles and making progress in the game. No fighting, who's to play at all, just pure collaboration.

It was also great to see Cédric Babouche's beautiful paintings for Dordogne, as well as the wonderful drawings for Gris. Incidentally, just like Creaks, Gris was available for unlimited hands-on play. There were also art books for all the games—perfect for getting lost in.

It was also unforgettable to see Édouard Caplain’s work displayed on such a large scale. I am a huge fan of his work in general, but especially the pieces exhibited here for Jusant are among my favorites of his. There was even a time-lapse video of one of his works. Truly worth seeing!

It was a real highlight to see the fantastic, dreamlike works of Piotr Jabłoński, the incredibly good pieces by Sergey Kolesov, the swift and precise sketches by Jean-Luc Monnet, the unique life-sized busts by Lucie Minne, and the insanely detailed analog map by Jan Chlup...
