Mission: Impossible (1996) still rules. I'll never get over the production design of Akvarium restaurant, the wild camera angles of that scene, and Czerny's electrifyingly menacing performance as Agent Kittridge

Just got a copy of Changeling: the Lost from a moving friend, and man it makes me yearn for a system that actually supports the themes of the lore. Living with trauma, building community, intra community conflict, conflicting access needs... it's all there, utterly unsupported by the system

Crew sheet comparison for the heck of it

Original Blades in the Dark's Assassins crew sheet. Like the character sheet, it has one darker column and more room for notes.

I've been enjoying the Deep Cuts sheets for months, but man, I really did not appreciate how much had changed from the original Blades until I looked at them side-by-side. What an impressive redesign!

The original Blades in the Dark sheet for the Cutter. It has one wide column (about half the page), one medium (about one third) with a darker background, and one very skinny column (the remaining sixth of the page).

The new Deep Cuts version of the Cutter sheet. The darker background for the middle column has been removed, and although some of the original column layout remains, material is much more evenly distributed and has more room to breathe.

Looking back at this Blades/Forged in the Dark roller I started building back in 2020. It's pretty simple; just a roller, not a character keeper, but makes it a little easier to remember to set position and effect, take bonus dice, etc etc.. Would you use something like this?

What a bad time to try to learn about the world

The AI overview helpfully states that "Yes, multiple octopus species are native to Washington, including the giant Pacific octopus and the Pacific Northwest tree octopus." The latter is pure fabrication, and obvious prank if you look at the website the AI is citing, but less obvious just from looking at text.

Additionally, the featured snipped result only mentions the Pacific Northwest tree octopus, not the real native octopus.

This weekend I played @ashcheshire.bsky.social and @glaiveguisarme.com's Magical Repair Shop! It was a cozy, convivial time filled with delightful magical mishaps. Such a wonderful job adapting Firebrands to a gentle, collaborative tone #ttrpgs #ttrpg #indieTtrpg

Magical Repair Shop zine and filled out character sheet. The zine has an intricate border around the title, and is printed with a rainbow iridescent effect. The character sheet describes a character named Stella, whose mystic power is aligned with the stars and chaos, and she specializes in small things. Her project, with a completed project clock, is a set of magical mice owned by the wizard Andromere. Project steps include making star charts, taking delivery, "observing behavior" ie it ran wild, and mouse therapy.
