I don’t understand why people think this isn’t the most obvious question in the world. No, of course not. You don’t know what the distribution of responses will be; that’s why you do the survey.

When I exported dns records from squarespace, they were in the wrong format and couldn't be imported into cloudflare properly, so I had to fix them up. Hopefully this isn't copying them wrong?

The analogy isn't wrong but what would be a better way of seeing as much wingspan and color as possible for an object that is predominantly flat?

computers were originally giant calc devices that many ppl couldn't relate to. So much media / stories we make are anthro'd concepts we can relate to (bugs bunny, iron giant, aesop's fables) bc relating to nonhumams I don't think comes easy to us but I'm surprised how effectively ELIZA gets so many

New just now in The Atlantic: David Robinson resigned this week. He was among the longest-tenured employees at OpenAI—and oversaw safety reports on 12 frontier launches. He is very worried: “The time for trial and error is over.” You can read his essay here: www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...

I followed but didn't join a protest in Boston in the 2010s and the group deliberately stayed in the path on a road leading to a hospital, performing die ins on the road, and so the hospital started intentionally sending empty ambulances through until the group left

I've been editing terraform at scale that would be so insanely/needlessly boring for me to do manually. Someone complaining that I should be manually incrementing sequential rows in Excel instead of double clicking and it autofills would never be taken seriously, so...

It's depressing, having experienced different "I'm not getting what I need" situations w/ adults who ignored me. NHJ just thought [my child + school + doing nothing] would fix something, but then how was her kid different than any other there? Since she wrote on edu for so long, it's rly strange.
