1000%. Experienced it firsthand with my sorority, they spend so much time trying to debunk these stereotypes during recruitment to make sure they get their bag instead of getting to the root of the issue. There are leaders trying to make strides but there are still way too many horror stories. 💔

YES (white!) Greek letter organizations have such a dark history, any academic and philanthropic work is a facade for their true purpose of reinforcing elitism. Hazing or not, the culture is rotten. I feel so much relief for those who have come out of it with any kind of benefit they are promised.

Now THAT BEING SAID please let them know if you leave a day or more early! That frees up inventory to resell if it can get cleaned same day and sometimes the hotel will grant you a refund if you leave before check out time. 💡

For example, if we’re talking over 200 rooms it truly does not make a difference. HK is much more streamlined and that room is probably already scheduled for clean at a very specific time. Under 100 rooms, they might be waiting around a little more.

My input on whether “just leaving” the hotel without informing the FD of your check out (as someone who has worked in several hotels): depends on how many units the hotel has, but overall it really does not make hk’s lives easier or harder to let them know of your departure. Just don’t camp out 🤷‍♀️
