Comic about the recent Touhou Popularity Poll :) #fanart #TouhouProject

Koa @koakuma.de · 30/08/2025

@mima-sama.bsky.social here is your yearly Popularity poll report: There is a goat above you, someone who hangs out with Shinki below, and you surely keeps climbing the list. Still the #1 between the PC-98 exclusives. Marisastill in 2nd, but Koishi threw Reimu to 3rd

Also I know a lot can be lost in Bluesky's image compressing. So this (should) be a functional link to a ZIP which contains the full image as well as the original contributions I received from everyone if you wanna see their art in full and un-obscured. drive.google.com/file/d/1cqZo...

HERE IT IS! After dozens of contributors I present the first Bluesky Reimu Pile! A huge thanks to everyone who contributed a Reimu to my silly idea, Touhou's community is full of amazing creators and I'm honored to have worked with all of you truly wonderful people #touhou #東方project #art #artcollab

A pile of Reimus contributed by the many users of bluesky's touhou community! They are stacked ontop of a Big Genji Plushie with a background depicting the Hakurei gate and woods behind it and a bluesky blue blue sky.

I am really surprised that after 27 years of Touhou 5 Mystic Square and 7 years of Lobotomy Corporation no one yet made art with Shinki and Angela side to side

The image depicts the character Shinki from Touhou Project in her appearance in the derivative work Touhou Lost Word. She is drawn with long, wavy white hair with a side ponytail from a hair bobbles, has light-colored eyes, wearing a red dress with white trim, and featuring large purple wings. She is looking forward with her hands clasped together in front of her chest.

The image depicts the character Angela from Project Moon in her appearance in Lobotomy Corporation. She is a tall woman that has a color gradient hair, starting as grey at the roots and fading into light blue at the tips. Her hair is styled in a side ponytail secured with red ties. She has fair skin and narrow yellow eyes. She is wearing a black vest over a white shirt, a red tie, and an open white lab coat. She has dark brown stockings and red shoes. Her hands are clasped together in front of her, around waist level. The character has a serious or neutral expression.

It sure takes a bit of effort to fix all the screen tearing landmines in PC-98 Touhou while still maintaining the exact original frame timing. The resulting code is often not natural at all.

Screenshot of VirtualDub2 showing a recording of TH03's character selection screen in 1P vs. CPU mode. The Z key is held all the way throughout to select Reimu vs. Reimu as quickly as possible. The original game's fadeout animation displays noticeable tearing on the currently selected frame #116 due to ZUN changing the PC-98's hardware graphics palette mid-frame.

Screenshot of VirtualDub2 showing the same recording from ReC98's landmine-fixing `debloated` branch. No more screen tearing, and we're still at frame 116.

Screenshot of the code behind the tearing landmine fix, featuring a silly trick to cut excess frames and another workaround that addresses the different placement of the palette manipulation.

Hi Gamers, As you may know, Nintendo of America is trying to opt everyone out of the right to class action lawsuits in their new EULA. They require a paper letter to opt out. I have created a form to easily opt out of this anti-consumer behavior. This is due 30 days from agreeing to the new EULA.

The US has just deported 88 people from the US to Brazil, who were handcuffed until they arrived in Manaus. This is dehumanising and sick. One week into an administration and the cruelty is already very much on show.

Don't mind me, just creating more 'Sekibanki dates human women' propaganda. I have always liked to believe Seki despite being weak has a heroic side to her so I was naturally very excited for her to be put in a fancy musketeer like outfit, quite the romantic #touhou #東方project #art

Sekibanki, Kosuzu, and Akyuu from Touhou project atop a roof with a new moon in the background bathing the clouds and sky in moonlight as petals fall around them all. Akyuu and Kosuzu both fawn over Seki in her musketeer like attire and poofy pants as she strikes an exaggeratedly heroic pose.

20 years ago we were suing teenagers for millions of dollars because they were torrenting a single Metallica album and now billionaires are demanding the free right to every work in history, so that they can re-sell it. The law only ever serves capital.

some things never change. we should make a unix-like board game called "userlandia"

A screenshot of a comic by David Farley for the Usenix (pronounced use-nicks) Login Magazine. The characters are gathered around a board game on a table and the person in focus says "Kernel Panic in the Linked Library with the named Pipe". The title of the comic is "Another exciting game of Clusenix" (Pronounced clues-nicks).

@mima-sama.bsky.social looks like we'll have to wait to reunite the two Makai lovey-doveys, Namusan will be released with the oil goat (and I have little to no expectancy that Shinki will be released with other fumo than Mima just like PC-98 Reimu and Marisa went together)
