Roscoe Rubin-Rottenberg @knotbin.com · 01/10/2026THISSSSS I wish there was a word for this because it's somewhere in the realm of "statelessness" but it's definitely not statelessness. 160

Roscoe Rubin-Rottenberg @knotbin.com · 30/09/2026NotebookLM is such a good idea and it would be so useful if anything other than a Gemini model was running it. Nothing has convinced me more than this that Gemini models are incapable of doing anything other than directly parroting the exact material fed into it. 240

Roscoe Rubin-Rottenberg @knotbin.com · 27/09/2026Random UI shit that bothers no one except me: For some reason only ~half of the new Apple Music posters have UI color matched to the artist logo. Maybe this is for legibility but they do it with dark colors sometimes… 081
Roscoe Rubin-Rottenberg @knotbin.com · 26/09/2026oh shit the new codex cli is amazing full screen tui and can manage multiple agents at once it's finally back on par with the desktop app (plus they even added voice mode with gpt-live which I'm never gonna use but cool that it works in the tui) 030

Roscoe Rubin-Rottenberg @knotbin.com · 19/09/2026Sometimes I’m lying in bed and I think of something and ask Siri to remind me of it. Usually I know what they refer to or have some vague idea of what I meant when I look at them later. But what the fuck could this possibly mean 2301
Roscoe Rubin-Rottenberg @knotbin.com · 15/09/2026Don’t think I can offer anything super useful. Swift was the first language I learned and I was very young so the specific features of the language were unclear to me. I used swift playgrounds which is (afaik) specifically for kids who haven’t coded before so I assume it’s not the most optimal path 230

Roscoe Rubin-Rottenberg @knotbin.com · 31/08/2026omg it's dieter! this is a really cool announcement. Does this also apply to switching the other way around? Like did you make it easier to switch both ways or just from iOS to android? 160

Roscoe Rubin-Rottenberg @knotbin.com · 27/08/2026this deeply nerdsniped me because the previous company I worked at, LSD, was exactly this kind of SQL but for the web e.g. FROM news.ycombinator.com SELECT a AS col1 , span.sitestr AS col2 GROUP BY span. titleline; I might try to rebuild it this weekend but for querying records from PDSes. 180

Roscoe Rubin-Rottenberg @knotbin.com · 26/08/2026yeah I wouldn't recommend building with puz for a new app (it's a very frustrating and inflexible proprietary format) but it's probably smart to support importing puz and maybe converting them? I haven't gone super deep but I know conversion tools exist. 000
Roscoe Rubin-Rottenberg @knotbin.com · 26/08/2026I don’t know of any that exist but the .ipuz format is just JSON so that seems pretty easy to make into a lexicon. 110
