Here's my Ochi review on @letterboxd.social because we really need movies crafted like this in our world right now:

Picaboo's Letterboxd review for Legend of Ochi that says:

"Hey you!" they yell from the back of the theater "sit down!"

But I can't hear them over the incredible, immersive score of this movie. I'm standing arms stretched out in awe over the brilliance of these puppets. The sets engulf me and take me out of the 90+ degree desert I live in and into a freezing mountain scape surrounded by the mesmerizing foley of these creatures.

"I LOVE THE OCHI!" I scream 5 minutes into the movie as the security guards have to drag me out, completely in love with the artistry and craft of The Legend of Ochi.

It's been awhile since I drew myself! Thanks to @knittingpea.bsky.social for the template 🩷 #starterpacknoai

An illustration showing AJ's self portrait posing within a plastic package like a doll. They are wearing a black snail T-shirt and black wide-leg pants. In smaller casing on the plastic packaging, there is an embroidery piece of a clown, a yellow water bottle, printmaking tools, a sketchbook, and Ramona the Cat lying on her back. Text at the top reads "AJ Starter Pack". In the top corner is a crossed out "AI".

Emilia Perez just won several Golden Globes and the director didn’t even bother mentioning Mexico, drug cartel victims, or anything related to the trans community (other than shouting out Karla Sofia Gascon). This is an awful celebration of cultural appropriation and exploitation.

In the early 1960s, Walt Disney carried the torch of one of humanity's oldest pursuits, the search for mechanical life. The result was Audio-Animatronics, a new breed of robots that would soon populate the world. Watch Disney's Animatronics: A Living History now.

Little mouse journey

Brown mouse in foreground, wearing backpack with sleeping bag attached on top, brown pants, beige shirt, belt with a penny belt buckle. Three bronze rings on tail, goggles on top of its head, map in pocket with a sewing needle sword over back. Background shows the mouse walking through a slightly musty forest with a blue, glowing butterfly, a house made out of a red-capped mushroom, and an abandoned mining entrance into the base of a tree. The mouse looks up bewildered at the butterfly, while holding the map in hands

Wishing I was looking at critters instead of at my desk today.

My first gallery piece is going up tomorrow at &gallery in Tucson. I'm very excited for it. I hand embroidered every part of this piece and mounted it. I'm calling it, "I was paying attention, I swear" #art #textileart
