Thank you so much! I loved digging through my stash to pick the yarns. It's a fun knit!

Have started a side quest! A wonderfully textured Stephen West scarf using lots of faves from my stash incl. a bouclé yarn for the loops and a Suri silk DK for a mesh stitch. It's knitted square then will be folded to make a triangular scarf. #wipwednesday #knitsky www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...
Close-up photo of a hand knit scarf on a circular metal needle, laying of a knobbly grey wool rug. About 25cm of the knitting is visible and only the last 30cm of the length (total measures about 95cm). Knitted in stripes of different stitches, from bottom to top: seed stitch, welt, mesh, garter, mesh, loop, mesh, garter. All yarns are DK incl. Isager Soft, Suri silk DK, Drops Daisy, Pebble Island. Some kidsilk haze is held double with some yarn.

Excited to have almost finished my zigzag scarf, as it's just gone on and on and on 😂 I'll keep going until I've finished the cream and lilac balls, another 6-8 inches. Would make again but in Aran weight and in just one colour. Pattern: Outline by Hedgehog Fibres. #showmeyourknits #knitsky
Long (about a yard and a half) fingering-weight scarf with a zigzag pattern, laid out of a grey sofa. Knitting is still on the needles. Mix of merino and silk mohair yarns in a variegated cream, lilac, smokey lavender and greyish cream.

The floofy #lightitupMAL has grown! Lots of stocking stitch for #showmeyourknits too! I have a few more inches to go in the length before changing to 3mm needles for the ribbing. #knitting #wipwednesday
A hand-knitted silk mohair cardigan still on circular needles, knit top down. Sleeve stitches are being held on cables. Colour is a powder pink. Cardigan is lying on pale grey sofa cushions.

Thank you! The silk indeed makes all the difference. The Sandnes yarn I'm using has some wool in the mix which gives a tad more structure but you do lose some drape and softness. Rowan's Kidsilk Haze (without the extra wool) is even more silky and floaty - perhaps for the next summer cardi!

This is how my #LightItUpMAL looks today. I haven't been knitting frantically through the night - this is after a week's worth of knitting! The mohair is so unforgiving though on 6mm needles! I'm not happy about the unevenness of my stitches 😬 #Knitting
The start of a hand-knitted cardigan on 6mm cable needles and the sleeve stitches on spare cables. Cardigan is being made with 2 strands of chalky pink silk mohair, the 2 balls of yarn are lying on the garment. The knitting is on dark grey sofa cushions.

I went away last week and 3 of the places we visited all had fab wool shops - what a coincidence! 😉 2 even had cafés next door where you could park your other half! Here's my haul... Details in alt text. #knitsky #Knitting
An arrangement of about a dozen balls and skeins of yarn plus 20mm wooden topped cable needles and 15mm straight plastic needles. The yarn from left clockwise is:
John Arbon Textiles worsted spun in Devon, colour Rosebay
Katia undyed silk alpaca
Novita Valo cotton polyester with tiny sequins
Novita Icelandic Wool in chalky punk, dark forest green and mustard.
Wol Verhalen undyed alpaca
Wol Verhalen hand dyed Pebble Island DK 100% Falkland wool.
All the wool is laid out on green tissue paper on a polished concrete floor.

I haven't posted for a while but then saw the #LightItUpMAL and found my motivation! Thank you @samantha-west.bsky.social I started this floofy, airy, powder pink cardigan last week - lots to love! 🧶💕 Yarn is Sandnes Tynn silk mohair + Sandnes free pattern for Long Airy Cardigan. #Knitting
The beginnings of a handknit cardigan on circular needles, showing about half of a collar. Knitted in powder pink silk mohair although in the photo, the yarn looks a bit peachy. Knitting is laid on dark grey sofa cushions.

Almost finished! The shawlette is off the needles and now I have to make dozens of tiny tassels to go around the edge, in the deep wine wool pictured. Pattern & yarn info in alt text. #knitsky #wipwednesday #knitting
Triangular hand knitted shawlette in mauve and plum colours, knitted in garter stitch. A cake of burgundy coloured yarn is laying on the shawlette, which in turn is laying on a grey sofa and navy blue cushion. Also visible on a grey and blue coarse blanket folded and laying over the back of sofa.

Pattern: Tiny Tassels, free download from the Loop Knitting website.
Yarn: 1 strand La Bien Aimée cashmerino in Peerie Tokki held tog with 1 strand Rowan Kidsilk Haze Colour in wine.
Tassels yarn: Laine X Novita 4 ply in deep burgundy.

Knit in the round seamlessly, in silk and metallic yarns, these mitts date from the 17th c. "Fine workmanship was required to incorporate the rigid metallic yarns into the silk stockinette without distorting the pattern." Zoom in and you can see the teeny tiny stockinette stitches. 🤯🧶 #knitsky
