This show is literally half commercials. They cut away from every single match, but include the entirety of a dull 15 minute promo, including several entrances. I can't imagine watching this show every week.

I'm watching Smackdown for the first time in ages, just checking in with what's happening in WWE. Why do all the wrestlers talk like their promos are written by ChatGPT? Also they made sure to brag about a PR event they did with Linda McMahon and RFK lol

They can easily slot Ricochet into the main event scene anytime they want, he can hang with anyone on the roster and has everything you want in a top wrestler. GOA are good, but Toa is quickly growing as a wrestler while Kaun is stuck in limbo. It feels like they need something fresh to level up.

He always performed whatever role he was in perfectly, and always felt like he knew exactly who he was, which is a tricky thing in a business where identity is always half real half kayfabe and not always really under your control One of the true greats. Hopefully his influence will continue on.

I asked somebody about this once, and they said it was because it felt "softer", like less aggressive. To me, posting "f*ck" instead of "fuck" just comes across as childish. Feels like they want the impact of a swear word without actually fully committing. But we already have minced oaths for that!

It seems like it, for the most part. I think that's one of the things that sets AEW apart from WWE, letting the performers have much more leeway on the details of their matches and promos. He sets the general direction and lets them work out exactly how to get there. I vastly prefer this approach.

An ex-gf of mine had a very similar surgery with the same kind of plate holding her femur together, and even just walking unassisted too much before it was fully healed caused the plate to break, requiring another surgery. I can't imagine something like that holding up under the strain of wrestling

The tennis people keep talking about Rybakina and I just keep imagining Ryback in a dress and a wig, trying to come back and join the women's division a la Santino Marella as Santina

My step-dad worked on these things both professionally and as a hobby, so when I was growing up there were dozens of them all over the house Never did figure out anything fun to do with them though

Wanting the company who has tried to monopolize the entire business for half a century to fail in their goals is part of supporting pro wrestling as an art form If WWE changed their perspective on the business, I'd be all in favor of it. But it doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon.
