In 5th grade I got some award for being a "voracious reader" but then college and textbooks and I haven't read very much in quite a while. Well this weekend I devoured "Klara and the Sun." Quite a striking narrative and I am excited to see the movie. I guess I need to wolf down books more often 🌞📕🍴

I picked up a hitchhiker on my way into my classroom this morning. Probably was best for everyone that they were escorted outside to a bush rather than being my show and tell exhibit. And yes, it's totally normal for me to have random yarn and frog puppet on my desk 🐸🌿

Summer project is done! Custom quilted and appliqued comforter with lots of silly hidden features. Now what am I going to work on for the rest of the summer? 🏕️🌛

Went on a side quest today to find some reptiles. Found quite a variety- some nice Side Blotched lizards, alligator lizards, dark Western fence lizards, whiptails, a tarantula hawk wasp, and a man with a top hat. Didn't find any legless friends this time though 🦎🎩

The Playmobil have been set up on our coffee table all week. The main furniture pieces have stayed in the same spot, but the people and animals are in different arrangements every time I walk by. Today there seems to be something odd happening in the horse corral... 🎨💪🏼🐴

First attempt at felting. Yes there is a picture showing what the finished one is supposed to look like, but who is going to stop me from creating a wacky bird with magnificent plumage? The package one doesn't even have a tail! Break those rules (and those needles!). Be free of the expectations! 🦜

It's so nice when Ed and Steed bloom at the same time. Ed is the prickly aloe vera that took over someone else's pot but wears these fine red flowers well. Stede is the citronella that tries to go in all directions, sometimes with more success than others. Above all, they're inseparable 🏴‍☠️💜🧡
