So much and so little to say at the same time..

This is so silly but it makes my day.. writing some tests today.. decided, to sprinkle some love in there. Hey to Esse and Kwaku ``` SELECT 'Esse' as name, 30 as age, 'Lome' as city UNION ALL SELECT 'Kwaku' as name, 35 as age, 'Accra' as city ```

On all the youtube videos that are political, people who aren't from America are always commenting things like "wake up", "how can you let this happen".. And there's something about this that makes me feel really bad..

This thought still haunts me. Why?

Either Ezra Klein is right or he's going to help drive us to the ground. Whatever is the case. His takes are entertaining and the data he presents is definitely A WAY to look at the problem.

I've found it really hard to understand the why... Why do you believe rounding people up who have spent their lives probably coming here. My family did. How does sending them home mend your hurt. I'm spending my time on r/conservative and I don't get it.

I grew up under a dose of autocracy and dictatorship. The country was led by the same person for 40 years. Then his son took over for the last 20. During his dad's time it was brutal repression.

You know who I haven't heard from lately, the "it's like picking the lesser of two evils" people.. too soon?

I was at an airbnb recently and some guy forgot to log off his youtube. The video suggestions were all what I'd call middle of the road right leaning media. But you could still sense this very palpable fear that the left wants to destroy "us". The US needs a national reconciliation council badly.

Feels so good to be in community and connect over black stories. Especially right now. "the best thing we can do is continue existing and rooting for each other." My fave quote of the night. 🤎

I made a LinkedIn w/ my qualifications, but w/ a white mans name & photo. Over the years I’ve seen big name companies reach out to him & not me for roles 🫤 What hurts more is now companies are reaching out to him for partnership deal for @techbychoice.org but not me There’s so many levels to this

I won the Kizomba Pacific Northwest Jack and Jill competition in January. There were 2 rounds. 4 heats with 5 couples. You danced with 3 different partners. And in the final you got shuffled but you danced all 3 songs with the same partner. The judging was based on connection and musicality.🏅

2 contestants sitting on a chair looking on 2 contestants hugging each other, the lead with his back slightly turned to the camera wearing number 115 bib, both looking at the judges with the biggest smiles.

One lead judge on the far left, one follow judge on the far right, in the middle, the follow winning contestant next to the lead judge, and lead winning contestant next to the follow judge. The winners are wearing their medals, standing in the foreground while all the contestants are sitting behind.

I still can't believe we just watched the richest man in the world make a "roman salute". I think about it as often as some say they think of the Roman empire. Wtf did we just witness folks?!!?!!

Somewhere bouncing between isles in the deep indo Pacific seas..

View of islands on a clear sky day, with a few clouds, surrounded by blue azure water, mixed with deep dark blue sea.. picture taken from a cliff with some greenery and arid soil, taken from a concrete pad of a construction site.

I don't know if I can do this every couple of days. It's incredibly frustrating to face the reality of being black in physical spaces, and come online and made feel so small, because as a people we don't deserve respect is disheartening.

I have made decisions, and made mistakes. those have caused harm to real people, including Black folks, including really great+knowledgeable Black folks who supported Bluesky. I'm sorry. feel pretty bad about it. it sucks. re/earning their trust, and everybody else's trust, will be hard.

The consistent factor I see in all of these misses, is that BlueSky doesn't talk to or listen to Black users or Black experts in the field of moderation and online communities, about their concerns or recommendations. This is before we even get to "Do they follow any of those recommendations?"
