Update: I still heavily dislike Secret Lair: Zeta. The more I learn about it, the more distaste and disdain I have for it. I wish it was more accessible because it is genuinely interesting from both a reprint and artistic focus. And yet, it’s coupled with continued “line goes up” decisions.

Immensely frustrated. I had made it into the queue as the first items began to sell out. However, the checkout page refused to advance me to finalize my order. I can accept things selling out, sure, but watching each drop sell out one-by-one as I fought with SLD’s website was miserable.

SLD Return to Mystical Archive. It contain 5 mono-colored uncommons using the traditional Japanese art used for the Mystical Archive. However: - all five cards, and the same Japanese art, are being printed in SOA (Mystical Archive) - the only difference is the text is English.

The Return to Mystical Archive SLD just announced is atrocious and an embarrassment to the product line. Like, it’s a tall bar to clear to be compared to the failure of the LOTR drop, but it very well may be the worst SLD ever released in terms of card quality and uniqueness.

I adore the idea of Prepare. Sorcery has this on a spellcaster, with their own spells. The flavor shines here. Mechanically, they’re just activated abilities with conditions and the spell twist. Insert the caveats here. “Reserved list” comparisons mean nothing to me. It’s just a name.

It doesn’t bother me. I actually like the simplicity vs. having like… 4-5 commander decks. I think the Eternal set does just fine at doing what the commander decks would do anyways: infuse non-standard cards.

More than anything, I miss the C13-C19 era. I actually do like the associated decks for sets; it’s a great way to splash support for archetypes that might be a one-set gimmick. But pairs make more sense there. BUT I miss the setting-agnostic set of 4-5 decks. The new, the nostalgic… etc
