Only taken several months for Bluesky to verify my age ffs I’m the wrong side of 50 trying to ‘prove’ I’m not a child with numerous failed attempts even supermarkets stopped asking for ID decades ago ( 🤣 must have had a rough wk for Bluesky to eventually recognised my advancing yrs)

King made more than £1m selling land for leg of HS2 that was scrapped
Exclusive: Duchy of Lancaster has maximised profits on land deals despite claiming it ‘does not rely on taxpayers’ money’ King Charles’s private property estate has made more than £1m at taxpayers’ expense from the sale of land for projects linked to the leg of HS2 which will no longer be built, the Guardian can reveal. The Duchy of Lancaster negotiated payments totalling £1,132,400 by selling land for road works near a proposed hub station in Crewe, Cheshire in a deal that has emerged despite the organisation’s assertion that it is “completely self-financing and does not rely on taxpayers’ money”. Alien-Nation oppressive, overwhelming, bureaucracy and the forms, reports , assessments, surveys, policies, guidance and plans. The work of #UnpaidCare when all we want is to be mum
Bound documents in a ball, bound by red yarn. Perched on the side of a tower of black box files A hand appears from a tangled mess of paperwork and rests on a book

NEW: The DWP consultation into plans to slash billions of pounds from disability benefits has been ruled unlawful in a damning High Court ruling. Mr Justice Calver repeatedly described the consultation held in autumn 2023 as “misleading”, “rushed” and “unfair” www.bigissue.com/news/social-...

Eurgh typo but I blame fury at repeated failings. Why aren’t #LearningDisabled people treated as fully human? David died from natural causes contributed to by neglect Why no chest exam? Why no NEWS escalation? Why no admission to ICU #DeathByIndifference #DiagnosticOvershadowing #OpenJustice

This is so important. And so awful. It is a catalogue of abuses of power at every level and it is unconscionable that all of those involved are the very people who are supposed to help.

Bingo.
The most visible campaigners against the change in politics have been disabled parliamentarians such as Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson or the MSP Pam Duncan-Glancy. The debate has taken its toll on many of them, saying they believe disabled people’s voices are being crowded out.

Many have experiences with intolerable waits for assistance and funding for care – the idea the state will make it quicker to request an assisted death than to get a ramp at home is one example that gives MPs pause.

The care minister has announced a £22.6 million boost to improve support for unpaid carers, including projects to help give carers breaks & greater flexibility, as well as technology to make their "Lives easier"? Nothing about cancelling any carer debt. As a carer, I'm geared for disappointment.

This is heartbreaking but sadly not shocking. The systemic abuse in 'calming rooms' across England has gone unchecked for far too long. #AgainstRestraint

The same MP who celebrated the blocking of 5 flats for people with learning disabilities in her constituency. Crashing hypocrisy.
MP Paulette Hamilton holding a bit of card that says "I will support disabled children and their families" at an event organised by DCP Campaign.A letter written by Paulette Hamilton last year celebrating the blocking of a planning occupation for 5 supported living flats for people with LD. Objections seemed to centre on traffic and "change of character" of the area.
