Is this a hot take? I don't think Child Zelda looks that bad in the remake. We've only seen a few seconds of her so far. Let's give her a chance. 😅

they know. they know! no sugarcoating, even! so fucking tell them!!

one question of the survey, with 9 checkbox options:

What concerns, if any, do you have about AI-assisted manga translations? (Select all that apply.)
*
1. Lower overall quality
2. Loss of respect for readers
3. Loss of respect for creators
4. Character personalities changing
5. Cultural references being mistranslated
6. Less work for human translators
7. Ethical concerns
8. Legal concerns
Other: (I typed in: environmental concerns, worse than a fresh human translation)

Remember when even buying new games was fun and didn't feel like work? Now you have to research the developing company, its background, the leads involved, the publisher, console manufacturers current policies, if the game will even be on-disc, if there will even BE a disc... Give me back my hobby.

So it turns out that Ryota Kawade, director of the first three Paper Mario games, directed Dragon Hopper. Not only was this the first game that he directed but also the ONLY game he directed outside of the Paper Mario series.

You know what was a really weird thing? Father-Daughter dances and Mother-Son dances in elementary school. I never liked them and they always made me feel uncomfortable (Though I also have sensitivity to sound so the music definitely didn't help). Still the concept alone was extremely weird.

I never realized until today just how short the lifespan of the GBA was relative to most Nintendo systems until now. 2001-2004 for the library that it had while STILL managing to sell over 80 million units (which is more than 3DS got in almost double the time) is very impressive.

Speaking as someone who's worked with Capcom, stays in touch with its people, and has, shall we say, professional room to maneuver, I'll just say that contrary to what the technical director in the IGN article asserts, I know for a *fact* many Capcom employees are VEHEMENTLY against this direction.

Finished Clair Obscur tonight and it’s such a shame Gen AI creates such a big asterix. I had a great conversation on the themes with my chat. How grief is processed, what it means to move on, the flaws of the characters. It’s powerful stuff. But next up on my docket is 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim!
