Saxony-Anhalt elected a Far-Right Speaker of Parliament. That puts democracy itself at risk. The Speaker is supposed to be a guardian of the constitution and parliamentary procedures. Germany had bad experiences with Far-Right Speakers. See my latest Substack: substack.com/home/post/p-...

does this imply that "negative advertising works"? Or is a consequence of negative advertising dominating over positive and realistic visions of party politics?

There are school- and university-level rules as to what has to be included. The (implicit) assumptions are that a) students don't read program-level rules and b) rules not stated in the course-level syllabus cannot be enforced, and students will use any loophole to get around them.

We have a very similar experience with a 3rd round with an Elsevier journal, and we are still debating what to do without offending the editor who clearly didn't do their job properly.

I am very curious about Wolfsburg being a positive outlier in your map (as well as Ingolstadt). Is there a VW story here? I mean, VW pays very generous wages and is now more than others in trouble economically - and under pressure from unions to maintain the high wages level.

I agree with the 'weird", but I have been wondering for a long time how, in their famous 2001 paper, they treat the de facto genocide of indigenous people that happened hundreds of years ago. To assess whether a country does well, we should focus on the people, not the geography.

This episode tackles the "Geopolitical Puzzle," investigating how researchers use everything from United Nations voting records to global news sentiment and trade sanctions to track the world's shifting alliances. You'll learn why a simple "yes" or "no" at the UN can reveal a country’s long-term loyalties, even when quick-moving news headlines suggest a different story.
