Getting in the moooooooood… #61MoviesOfHalloween
12 oz can of Pumpkin Spice Cream Ale from Third Space Brewing. There is a graphic art style pumpkin behind the beer style name, and the can is a creamy orange, darker near the top with an orange, white, brown, and black plaid-esque stripe dividing the shades diagonally.

Moloch was good and I recommend it. It also means I’ve completed the Folk Horror criteria and have yet to repeat a film. #SideQuest #61MoviesOfHalloween Pics for the paperwork. If only I was as organized and efficient in every other part of my life.

Probably haunted. #Hipstamatic
Picture of a yard I walk by daily. The house is set back from the sidewalk and the front yard is full of very tall trees, many of them pine, so there’s this visible openness at ground level that almost always shadowed. Right now they have one of those flat trailers that you can hitch to a car for moving a boat or another car or ATVs on one side of the small clearing in the middle of the trees.

Taken with Hipstamatic app using the Shinjuku pack (Takashi lens, Kitsune 67 film).

I have read two stories from this and I didn’t understand either one.
Cover of the book The Ghost Stories of Edith Wharton (paperback). The cover includes a picture or probably drawing showing what looks like a ghostly female figure in a long white gown, standing in the doorway of a room with old-fashioned (maybe Victorian?) furniture and floral wallpaper.

My first movie from the 60s is #Movie11 and is also, somehow, new to me! Night of the Big Heat, starring that madcap duo Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. It also has one of the best Italian movie posters I've seen. #61MoviesOfHalloween
Picture of the Italian movie poster for Night of the Big Heat which in Italian was Demoni di Fuoco. It shows Christoper Lee's face surrounded red psychedelic swirls like octopus arms, and lists the main cast members. It also says it was filmed in Eastman Color.

Wandered into the Middleton Historical Museum today and found this seasonally appropriate HAIR WREATH because the past was creepy AF.
Picture of a wreath framed under glass that is made out of locks of human hair. This was apparently a thing that people did in the 1890s, so just remember that when people start talking about the good ole days.

But speaking of creature features, I went to McDonald’s today:

Sweet Jesus, there’s NINE of them now.
Nine wild turkeys along the side of a paved driveway that curves off to the top left of the picture. Actually the one furthest away is in the middle of the driveway. Heaven help us.

Posting this picture of the cloud hanging ominously over us just in case I’m never heard from again.
Picture shows farmland stretching out into the distance, with tilled but not-yet-planted rows and some scattered clumps of bushes and trees. In the sky hangs a large low dark cloud. There are some striations in the underside of the cloud.

All caught up on what I missed on Monday, and appears the cold, unfeeling universe has once again thwarted me. All brackets have busted so I’m choosing to root for the whale tonight because I saw this earlier. Look at those teeth! #2026MMM #UWGeologyMuseum
Picture of an exhibit at the Geology Museum at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The exhibit is of an ancestral whale from the Tertiary Period of the Miocene Epoch. The skull was found in Chesapeake Bay, Maryland. There is an artist’s rendering of what the whale probably looked like, as well as the upper part of the whale’s skull. At the bottom of the case is what I think is part of a Miocene dolphin’s skull, also found in Chesapeake Bay.

I walked past this tree this morning while walking in a neighborhood I don’t usually walk in and it took me a second to figure out why it seemed so familiar.
Picture of a small to medium sized winter tree in a fenced in front yard. The fence is metal. There is a No Parking sign on the fence. The tree has a very straight thin trunk and lots of spreading branches that start more than halfway up. The branches look a bit like arms reaching up to the sky.

I’m watching one of the classic Doctor Who stories on my iPad (full disclosure: it’s a fairly old model), and the captions are totally off. I’m not even sure they’re the captions for this episode. But worse: the captions setting is currently at “Off”. Is my iPad possessed? Is this iPad dementia?

I was reading a review of the latest remake of Silent Night Deadly Night (directed by Mike P. Nelson! Unfortunately the reviewer was not that complimentary) and now I’m going to have to hunt down that Tales from the Crypt episode.
Screenshot from a movie review on The A.V. Club’s website - not overly positive, basically states the movie has a lot of good ideas but never commits to any of them, and brings up the “And All Through the House” episode from Tale from the Crypt as an example of a really good version of the general plot.
