AI needs infinite data, it can’t coherently reproduce the same results, it can’t do anything that isn’t already in it’s data. It needs to be at a large enough scale to fool you into looking legitimate. But at it’s heart it’s a hollow, artless, soulless lie.

There’s always bullshit arguments about AI “art”, but fundamentally what kills the “it’s just like humans learning!!” argument for me is how much data it needs. A human could see 0.000001% of ART a shitty model sees, draw, keep drawing and keep improving.

I heavily endorse wearing helmets for others, even if I'm too reckless to myself. And I say this as someone who has cycled since I was a little kid, on roads, swamps and highways and down stairs, basically anywhere you can think.
