they already are. LLMs are a theft machine not just in the copyright sense. They also can easily help someone socially engineer to phish for info, and they can also run more sophisticated scams by copying someone's voice.

There is a striking disconnect between Talarico, Turek, et al. — who have clearly made a political calculation that abandoning trans rights will help them more than it will hurt them in this election — and the many cisgender liberals I’ve encountered online who are absolutely freaking out over the possibility that trans people’s critiques and protests will ultimately tank said candidates.
Both of these things cannot simultaneously be true!
If you think your favorite candidate enacted the correct political strategy, then there is no reason to berate trans people for protesting it, as those protests should already be baked into your candidate’s calculations. In the end it might be good, it might not. They're doing a lot to focus on the social experience and the worldbuilding though, which imo is more important to an mmo than the workings of the endgame loot.

TurtleWow (which forever heavily pulls from) did a similar thing with gear and it was incredibly popular and populated. And just because the loot is similar in gear level doesn't mean people won't chase upgrades or that new content won't have bis lists.

There might be less incentive to run new content if it doesn't double your power every couple raid tiers. But on the other hand having new content that isn't gated by requiring you to be in full gear from the previous raid should make it all more accessible.

It depends on how long all the content drops take and what the horizontal scaling is like. No one is going to be done in 2 weeks though. It takes hundreds of hours to level to 60, and you aren't going to be getting all your bis items in 2 raid lockouts either.

what they mean by that is they won't have things like outland expansion where suddenly the green items from quests are better than your raid epics from the old world. New areas aren't supposed to have simply higher ilvl gear, but alternative gear with different appearances and/or shuffled stats.

As for lore, I think it's going to be functionally like an alternate timeline. so it's launching with the original 20 dungeons plus 9 new ones. Along with raids for Mount Hyjal (10 or 20 woman) and Onyxia (40 woman)

It's vanilla+ with an alternative philosophy of horizontal progression rather than vertical scaling. So level is capped at 60 forever, raids won't endlessly scale gear levels, etc. Some qol things have been included but they're prioritizing things that keep people in the open world.
