Played disc golf this morning with a player that was in a complete hurry, purposely miscounted his throws, and did not observe the etiquette of waiting for you to putt or upshot when you are further out; essentially cutting in line. He could play better than me, but he didn’t respect the game.

Had a chance to see a summer film and we saw #DisclosureDay It was ehhh. I love Speilberg and I expected more, but this was a bit much. Yes, I do believe that there are non human entities outside of our solar system, but this movie tried too hard. Even then, Emily Blunt’s performance was solid.

My youngest (14 yr old) made me the best card ever. No fancy presents, she just wrote and drew something down and it made my eyes watery. Usually on Father’s Day it feels like all we get is a kick in the ass and a little time off. This makes up for it all. #HappyFathersDay

1. For one of my 6th grade students, for his birthday I bought him a yearbook. His Mom is a custodian, raising 3 kids by herself. 2. I took my class out & for PE, I showed whoever was interested on how to throw a football. Then we played catch for 20 min. 1/2 of my kids do not have fathers at home.

Therapy on wheels. My wife keeps telling me “when are you going to get rid of your car?” It’s an ‘07 Infiniti G35 coupe with a 6 speed manual. I freakin’ love driving it. So the answer is never. Nothing like carving up turns with the moonroof open cruising in your own little world.

This week was #teacherappreciationweek and I got a lot of chocolates, a cool Mandalorian stuffy, but the best thing I received was a hand written letter from my student. Couple that with her recent growth in reading and it’s like christmas for me.

One of my students wrote me a letter thanking me for being an awesome teacher. She is grateful for having me as her teacher this year.

This student has dyslexia, but she is not lettering that stop her from learning how to read and write. Her heart is as big as L.A. and I am super proud of her growth and resilience.

I miss my therapist. It has been about a year since I’ve seen him and I had to stop our sessions because we could not afford him. Between my wife’s insurance and my own, he was out of network, and at $150/session, every other week, we just could not afford it anymore. This sucks.

Yesterday I prepped, managed, conducted and closed 3 IEP meetings in a single day. It was arduous, stressful and one of the hardest things I’ve done but it had to be done in a single day. One mother told me that of all the teachers her 5th grade son has had, I know him the best. 1/2

I consider myself a film buff, but I’ve never seen this or any of the Avengers films. Not even Black Panther, Thor or Dr. whatever. My daughter made me see Guardians. That was okay. The ensemble had great chemistry.

Chaperoned 6th grade camp on Wednesday and it felt good to be there. I myself did not have the opportunity to attend 6th grade camp when I was a kid. I didn’t even know it was a thing until I became a parent. Well, I finally made it.
