all i can do is hope that what i’m doing matters. i don’t know how much it really does. there’s no way to quantify it. and i’m not exactly “reaching the masses”. i should be doing more, i just don’t know what that looks like, and i don’t know if i have it in me to try.

i wish that my role in all of this was rooted in my physicality instead of my brain. there’s not much room left for joy in my brain when i have to spend half of my time making extremely thorough analyses, digesting huge amounts of information, and desperately trying to educate people.

It is obvious to me that AI has immense destructive power, but I don't really think the people dismissing these concerns as 'marketing' are doing so because they are uninformed or as 'cope.' I think the AI industry's historical capacity for puffery is informing these takes.
