The cocoa with the real chocolaty flavour!
INGREDIENTS
6 ozs, plain flour, pinch salt, vanilla
essence, 4 ors. butter or margarine,
2 tablespoons milk, t oz. Bournville
Cocoa, 1 small teaspoon baking
powder, 4 ozs, sugar, a large eggs.
grated rind of 1 orange.
METHOD
Cream butter and sugar. Sift flour,
salt, baking powder and cocoa.
Separate whites from yolks of eggs.
Add yolks and orange rind to butter
and sugar and beat well, Whip whites
of eggs till stiff. Add Hour, etc., to
butter, etc., gradually, then milk. Mix
Fold in whites lightly. Put into
small cake tin lined with a greased
paper. Bake in a moderate oven
(375°F) 1 hour 1 hour zo minutes.
For a shallower cake in a larger tin,
it will of course take only half the
time to cook. Cool on a wire tray.
Ice with chocolate icing and decorate
with crystallised fruits and blanched
nuts.
To make your icing, sifi 1 cup Icing
Sugar, 3 heaped teaspoonfuls Bourn-
ville Cacoa and 1 teaspoonful
Cinnamon into a bowl with tea
spoonful Butter and a few drops
Vanilla Essence. Add hot water
gradually and mix until smooth con
sistency will coat back of spoon.
Pour on top surface of cake, smooth
ing as little as possible with knife.

Went to see The Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Edition) at the cinema with eldest, who is a big fan of the films. It's her least favourite of the three but we had a good time. Although it's looong and episodic the EE flows better for me and has more room for the worldbuilding to breathe. #LOTR

I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness. You could be next.

He'd turned to ChatGPT about 12 weeks ago for assistance with a permaculture and construction project; soon, after engaging the bot in probing philosophical chats, he became engulfed in messianic delusions, proclaiming that he had somehow brought forth a sentient AI, and that with it he had "broken" math and physics, embarking on a grandiose mission to save the world. His gentle personality faded as his obsession deepened, and his behavior became so erratic that he was let go from his job. He stopped sleeping and rapidly lost weight.

"He was like, 'just talk to [ChatGPT]. You'll see what I'm talking about,'" his wife recalled. "And every time I'm looking at what's going on the screen, it just sounds like a bunch of affirming, sycophantic bullsh*t."

Eventually, the husband slid into a full-tilt break with reality. Realizing how bad things had become, his wife and a friend went out to buy enough gas to make it to the hospital. When they returned, the husband had a length of rope wrapped around his neck.
