Due to staffing shortages, the National Weather Service in Jackson no longer has overnight staff. But NWS and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear say the office was staffed Friday night and early Saturday.

Malcolm X was assassinated 60 years ago. Actor Ossie Davis called him, “our Black shining prince.” White people at the time tried to do what many white supremacists continue trying to do: demonize him. Yet his legacy and Black peoples’ love for him remains strong.

Making sure everyone has healthcare is sensible. Making sure everyone has housing is sensible. Making sure everyone makes a living wage is sensible. Keeping people on the streets and in medical debt so a handful of executives can get richer is radical and extreme.
