I keep looking at it more and more, and I'm convinced that I don't need to have a third linear approximation for the high end... although, the line for the low end helps eek out that extra 5% that I'd assume the customer would appreciate.

I wired up columns on my custom keyboard today. It's remarkably easy to do this with enamel wire... although, it is a little harder getting the enamel to burn off on the whole loop once it's placed. It is be sufficient just to burn off a portion of the enamel for continuity though.

Brake inspection is also very accurate once you have your wheels removed. (If you can't see your material from the outside) My favorite tool for this is actually the 3mm pocket flathead screwdriver. If it (leading edge usually) gets close to the width of the screwdriver, replacement is recommended.
