If people could just stop trying to throw every problem at multimodal models, that would be awesome. Want to read an electric meter? We have segmentation and OCR for that. Or we can train a model on the task specifically. ChatGPT is NOT a good fit. Want to detect objects? THAT EXISTS TOO!

Look, I AM giving amdgpu a chance on Linux, but the AMD drivers just screwed an Ubuntu box upgrading from 22.04 to 24.04. This is with an RX 6400. It's a good thing I'm not terrified of command lines - though I might still not be able to rescue it.
