Starting a new series: all things freelance work and movie posters. Explaining the process and helping collaboration. Today, it’s all about the brief, one of the most important bits of creating a good piece of key art.

Almost 350 downloads of my Suspiria-inspired typeface in 2 days is insane to me! I’d never designed a font before. I’m grateful and thankful to those that tipped and I’ll def be designing more in future. You can find this one here and it’s free to download! thisisfunart.gumroad.com/l/pffim?fbcl...

Rewatched Amélie tonight. Don’t know what is changed to me but It felt so different this time. It’s my 8 watch or maybe more, I stopped counting but this time was different. Like I’ve seen it with completely different mind and eyes. The film was the same, absolutely brilliant.

John Carpenter's The Thing (1982): Iconic poster art by Drew Struzan Just to send a little more love to Drew. 🥰

A black and white illustration depicts a figure engulfed in a blinding light emanating from the area where its head should be. The figure is silhouetted, appearing to wear a jacket and pants, with arms outstretched to the sides and hands open. Sharp, linear bursts of light radiate outwards from the head area, creating a dynamic and intense visual effect. The light is brightest at the center and gradually fades into shades of grey as the rays extend. The figure appears to be standing amidst a swirling mist or snow, indicated by the textured grey areas around its feet. The overall composition is dramatic and suggests a powerful, possibly transformative, event centered on the figure.

A stylized, full-body illustration against a stark white background depicts a dark silhouette of a human-like figure standing with arms outstretched to the sides and legs slightly apart. The figure is uniformly dark, lacking internal details, and appears to be wearing a jacket and pants.

The most striking feature of the illustration is the intense, bright white and blue light emanating from where the figure's head should be. This light bursts outwards in sharp, linear rays, creating a starburst effect that extends beyond the silhouette of the body. The light is concentrated at the center, gradually fading into shades of blue as the rays extend outwards. Smaller bursts of bright light and white speckles are also present around the figure's feet, suggesting a similar energy or light source originating from below.

Year started with one let down following by another work vise. Lost client without any explanation or art direction. And then found out that project I and team worked on with tears sweat and blood will never see the light. Now I’m gonna reflect on my life and play all day in rereleased Sims 2.

Been quiet lately here because last year finished and new year started with an insane project I spend all my time working on. The holidays felt like a small bright flash that went out so quickly. The project is coming to an end next week and I can’t be more excited and anxious at the same time haha.
