Five (out of 8) episodes in and I'm still on the fence about season 5 of #theBear. The whole vibe is so different. Some of it I like. The slow AF pacing is a huge change from seasons 1-4 and interesting to watch. Other things, not so much. Like Hans Zimmer. I don't know. He's not very Chicago.

I can't quite decide which angle shows off my "compost flower" best. (This happened completely accidentally a year or so ago when I worked in a farm-to-fork restaurant that composted everything, or fed it to the pigs and then used the pig manure as compost, or something.)

I watched the movie #SlapShot for the first time in a gagillion years and I think it’s actually a bit worse than I remember it. #IceHockey is so much more interesting a game than this movie portrays, even at that time when fighting was much more common than it is now. The ending is genius, though.

When I got to work this morning at 6am, it was over 80°F in the kitchen. Somehow the air conditioning had been switched back to furnace. Needless to say, it only got worse when I turned on the ovens, fryer, flat top, steam table, etc, and was downright oppressive during service. #chefLife
