I have an artist Alley table so it's a different process. I got an email. But if I see a post with your table I'll let you know man.

Hey friends. I wanted to show off the cover to issue 3 of Soda Pop Pirates. This features a dope cover by einkstein and a brand spanking new logo by my bud Marcus. And of course the interior art features alkmerlin still killing it! Book three will be out for the March comic con.

So proud to see Deja Ross Speaks to Freaks, Undergrowth, AND Wolfpitch on this incredible list of nominees from CBY. 💙 @topshelfcomix.bsky.social brings quality titles, every single year, and these were three of my personal faves. Congrats to all the nominees!

What's important is that you take care of yourself!

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 29/11/2024

Dude! What did I just say in the panel?! Haha be kind to yourself. You got it up and it's awesome. Great job. Doesn't matter when you got it up.

Thanks man. I appreciate the responses!

That's what I'm seeing too. I guess it'll just take time.

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 27/11/2024

100%!! We don't need permission from anyone to do something. Haha sounds like we have the same view on things. *High five* haha

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 27/11/2024

Makes sense... Now to do some soul searching on what I want to do exactly!

010

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 27/11/2024

Oh dude! That's such a great point! I love that. It's so true! People get obsessed with that and dont make things. It's sad to see.

110

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 27/11/2024

Is it worth the cut they take?!

110

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 27/11/2024

Would you say it's worth the trouble though?

100

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 27/11/2024

That makes a lot of sense. Hmm I think at the end of the day I'd want to get into the book market, but not necessarily exclusively in the YA space. Is that doable? Haha feels like the book market is dominated by YA.

110

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 27/11/2024

You're good at it. Have agents approached you?

100

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 26/11/2024

Yeah I guess as an artist it might be easier for that stuff. Hmm

000

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 26/11/2024

Have you tried or just thinking about it?

100

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 26/11/2024

Hey bluesky. Is it useful to get an agent if I primarily make comics? ... Also how do I get an agent? Just bugging people?

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

I just picked up this bad boy from @madeleinevasaly.com . Madeleine proofread Undergrowth so if you read it and was like "I don't see a single error in this" you know why! There aren't really any resources like this for comics so I'm very glad this exists and I'm ready to learn!

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

If you've seen Kickboxer you know that Mylee has a rough go at it. I've tried to plant the seeds throughout the previous issues that Mylee is a victim to Kurt's reckless revenge. It's all very subtle. Case in point, emphasizing Van Damme's psycho stare down. Like a hawk looking for its prey!

Oh buddy. That's gonna be a whole issue! It's gonna be the most indulgent books ever.

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 01/08/2023

Here's what the interiors look like. They're fun! Van Damme looks like a little Lego man.

Ricky Lima @kingkrule.bsky.social · 01/08/2023

At the beginning of the month I started a new project to try and adapt the 1989 Van Damme vehicle Kickboxer into a comic. It'll be ready for FanExpo at the end of August and available on my website. There's 4 covers! Check em out.
