Nick Adams @kingchirp.bsky.social · 08/07/2026But this is something I’ve thought about for years. How does Egypt produce Salah? Our rival Mexico produced Rafa Marquez. Samuel Eto’o from Cameroon. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was produced by Georgia… the country. How has the USMNT never developed even one of those guys? 010
Nick Adams @kingchirp.bsky.social · 08/07/2026Great article about why the USMNT aren’t quite good enough and yet this part sticks with me. The USMNT failed to qualify for the World Cup in 2018 after miserable performances against poor opposition. We’re now dunking on poor opposition in 2026. We’re still not good enough but we’re improving. 100

Nick Adams @kingchirp.bsky.social · 24/06/2026The Fox studio show has been so so dry. It’s also ironically resembled a national team trying to cram star players onto the pitch, despite them typically playing the same position, while also needing to play Lalas at LB because he’s (figuratively) the only left-footed player and he has tenure. 000

Nick Adams @kingchirp.bsky.social · 15/05/2026Now I’m thinking about the top Liverpool player takeaways this season: 1. Rio 2. Szobo is now a centerpiece (and he kicks the ball hard). 3. Gravenberch improved and is clearly one half of a pivot. 4. Wirtz… Could have been worse? *5. Ekitike looked so good 😭 000
