Oldest has moved from “‘I’m thinking engineering” to “Maybe architecture” to “Does anyone just do math all day for a living? Like, solves hard problems all day? I want to do that, but who pays someone for that?” What’s the answer? He doesn’t want to teach. Help this mom! #math #iteachmath

Visited a class this week and did a clothesline math problem string. Student A placed 1/2 between 0 and 1/4 bc “2 is half of 4”. Student B placed 0.5 between 0 and 1/4 bc “it also has a zero”. I love these moments. Thoughts? Responses to either student?
