Funny fact: At one point, the creator of Evangelion, Anno, described the atmosphere at Studio Ghibli as “Stalinist.” Miyazaki, not one to let things slide, clapped back by mocking Anno’s fondness for basset hounds 😂

Some actions can have an effect much later than when they actually happened, or their value lies in the “long tail” rather than in the event itself. What I mean is this: some time ago, I posted Onigiri on HN. There was a traffic spike, not too many signups, and no payments at all.

Building onigiri.one this year so far helped me to learn several things 1/ People do buy my product. This means it has value 2/ Yet there aren't much subscriptions yet. That means I still learning on distribution #buildinpublic

Nick Kimel @kimelnick.bsky.social · 28/12/2024

We’re hitting $65 MRR and this will cover the costs for cloud for and other soft for both of our products. Finally the break even point and tons of learnings made during this year. P.s. graph doesn’t include one yearly subscriber which I count as well #buildinpublic

Lately I've launched onigiri.one on Product Hunt and hit just 25th place Here're lessons I've learned from it 1/ Preparations matter. You should prepare your launch at least 1 month before it would happen. I've started too late and got less engagement #buildinpublic

What's you feel as a main advantage of being on Bsky instead of X so far?

000

Nick Kimel @kimelnick.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

It’s a disaster to find a flat in Valencia. I’m planning my relocations and all the options there are extremely overpriced. And awfully old. Is it only a Valencia problem?
