So proud of @michaelle.bsky.social for bringing contemporary integrative interpersonal theory (CIIT) to SRP 2026 👏 👏

Hey Aaron, great talk at SRP today! I was wondering how stable the keystone and gateway labels are across questionnaires. If you split one broad symptom into two more specific items, would that change which symptoms emerge as keystones or gateways?

We have prepared support material to help users adapt. I am very sorry for the disruption to your work. Please read this post for details.

5/5 These findings suggest that cross-surface patterns provide clinically meaningful information beyond single-surface scores and may reveal compensatory strengths and intervention targets.

4/5 Problems and sensitivities did not behave the same way, and that association was largely explained by shared interpersonal difficulty.

3/5 People whose problems peaked in a different circumplex region than their values or efficacies had healthier personality functioning, even after accounting for surface elevations. The effect was strongest when cold problems were paired with capacities in other regions.

2/5 Multisurface interpersonal assessment assumes that the gap between someone's interpersonal problems and their values, sensitivities, and efficacies carries clinical meaning. We tested that assumption in 1,101 adults.

The new Fable with the cowork option in Claude is pretty impressive for coding, but I’m getting frustrated because it kills all my monthly usage quickly and starts charging me extra money. Use that option sparingly because Opus still does well.

2/ Benchmarks: Cohen's .1/.3/.5 (small/med/large). He notes w can be affected by model size & nonnormality, so he reports it alongside ΔNCI (more robust to sample & model size). I have the 2nd of edition (2023) of the book and it's on p. 34.

1/ You're close. You're just missing the df term in the denominator. Newsom gives Cohen's w = √(Δχ² / (N × Δdf)), adapted from contingency-table χ². For metric vs scalar, Δχ² and Δdf are the differences between those two models and N is the total sample size.

The ML4 AA bit really makes your point. Author-advised standardization was basically the strongest "just do replications better" version, and it still couldn't move things out of high-ρ. Reads to me as evidence the deeper rigor agenda was right, not that any of it was wasted.

They argue that PF can't both capture what PDs share and distinguish PD from other disorders, but that only holds if PF is a statistical summary. If it's a developmental capacity, being specific in origin and broad in consequence isn't a contradiction. That's how development works.
