There was a time a few years ago where I arrived at the conclusion that hip hop is the best sounding genre of all on vinyl (next to jazz) because of how much it brings out the bass and percussion. I only have a few DOOM LPs but they all sounds fantastic in this regard with his voice front and center

Chris Cornell's death really fucked me up. I found out via my new boss at a job I had just started first thing that morning. It's hard to process that someone you really admired just took their own life and then go on to focus on a thing like the new job at hand. It was a strange day.

Diving into this this evening. Sean DeLear was a queer punk artist in LA from the 80s-2010s. These are the diaries they kept while a teenager living with their super christian family and trying to carve out their identity.

The great thing about record collecting is occasionally you will discover things you forgot you had in your own stash. This is one of those. Radio Tokyo was a studio run by Ethan James in LA who recorded The Last, Minutemen, Bangles, Rain Parade, Three O Clock, 100 Flowers, Wurm, etc. Great comp!
