iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

It's weird how they keep referencing shit from MY specific era of anime, and it's even weirder that it's coming from teenagers in 2022.

Update: They just referenced Clannad. What fucking weeb wrote this shit?

Most of mine ended up being Japanese films (I also couldn't decide between Ritual and Love & Pop as I kinda put them together.)

I remember marathoning the Friday the 13th films a couple years ago hoping to have a good, campy time, only to be bored through most of it. Kinda solidified my dislike towards most slashers.

I have seen all of Penguindrum back in the day and hated it. I tried watching Utena afterward and stopped after the episode where people got jumped by a random kangaroo. I think I just found Ikuhara's style kinda grating. I do think my tastes have changed since so I'm willing to give it another go.

I would tolerate the main character's sardonic, edgy teen schtick a lot more if her adult version didn't act the same way.

000

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

These characters are so annoying. It's literally sapping me of all my wokeness.

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

This show is spiritually Adi Shankar.

100

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Also the villains in this are fucking obnoxious. They remind me of Taika Waititi in Free Guy.

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

This might be THE wildest reference I've ever seen in a piece of media, like, ever? WTF do you mean the Resident Evil show references Nyaa torrent?! Who ACTUALLY wrote this?!

Still can't watch Zach Cregger's Resident Evil so instead I'm currently forcing myself to sit through the Netflix show.

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

How many notes in the franchise are literally "We made a fucky wucky."

030

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

It sucks living where I am as a cinephile because 99% of the time I have to wait for digital to see the new hot movie and by that time the hype cycle has fully ran its course from “wow that was so good!” to “Erm, was it REALLY that good? *pushes glasses *”

000

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Like, yes, this is a common issue with a lot of shows, but I feel like it's magnified the more space there is between episodes. People will write the entire rest of the show in their heads by the time the next episode is out.

000

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Looking forward to this but I'm worried that the long wait between episodes will cause a similar issue as TADC, where people will get way too carried away with lore and theories, create their own headcanons, let it fester, and then get mad when said headcanon doesn't happen.

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

For me it's the end of the film where everyone in the city gets cured of the zombie virus and revert back to normal.

110

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

I'd put Apocalypse slightly above it because, at least when Alice isn't on screen, it feels the most like a RE film out of all the Anderson movies.

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

The only correct thing about this list is that WtRC is at the bottom.

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

Beat Onimusha. Bro that was a fucking Video Game goddamn my hands were sweating. This was what I wanted out of Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei. On to Fire Emblem now.

011

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

You know, it took me this long to realize that the way certain people react to the phrase "Free Palestine" is just "So you hate waffles" on a macro scale.

110

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

Didn't realize Fortune's Weave comes out tomorrow (or literally in a couple of minutes where I live). I need to beat Onimusha ASAP.

000

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

Style A because booba. I do like the lines for B though.

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Not a fan, but for some reason I keep wanting to root for the guy. I still have fondness for his early work, and I felt for his situation during JL. He also doesn't seem like a bad guy. I liked the Snyder Cut and Army of the Dead, and I was hoping for a big comeback, but then Rebel Moon happened.

010

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Gonna take a bit of a break before hopping into Peace Walker. I wanna give Onimusha a try.

000

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Quick ranking so far: 1) MGS2 2) MGS3 3) MGS4 4) MGS1 Loved all of them btw. I have played MG1 and 2, but never finished them. I'm also not quite sure where Revengeance would rank. It just feels like it's in its own league, but it will be interesting to replay it after finally playing MGS4.

100

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Beat MGS4. I'm gonna take a while for the whole thing to sink in, but I loved it. That cutscene didn't feel that long, if I'm being honest.

100

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Finally back to MGS4 after being rudely interrupted by Mother Nature. Snake going through the microwave hallway is exactly how I felt during the 48 hours after Hurricane Lowell.

010

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Anyways, I finally got around to seeing Evil Dead Burn. That was some good shit.

000

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Anyways, here’s some shots I took of the highway the morning after #huricanelowell. Thankfully they managed to get it up and running again fairly quickly, but this was still wild to wake up to.

A shot of a highway covered with rocks, with a crowd of people in the distance.

More rocks on the highway with a crowd of people gathered.

000

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

It’s also been unbearably hot with no fans or ACs. I’m thankful that we’ve got through this mostly unscathed, but this has been an absolutely miserable experience.

000

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Still no power but service is back up. Power should be back by tomorrow morning, hopefully.

100

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

I’m back. Spent the last 2 days with no power and no service. Couldn’t contact anyone and couldn’t even check for updates. Felt completely cut off from everything.

100

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Luckily damage to our house was minimal besides the fence. I can NOT say the same about the highway. Took some photos with my camera and will post when I get the chance, because I’ve never seen anything like it.

011

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I lived. FINAL VERDICT: Hurricanes are scary. Would not recommend.

110

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

UPDATE: Things seemed to have calmed down a bit. Might be able to take a nap for a little while.

000

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Listening to The Odyssey audiobook to pass the time during a hurricane is the closest I can get to the 4DX experience.

100

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Power’s out and the whole house is shaking.

100

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I just remembered there's a Nintendo Direct tomorrow at like 4 am. I might just tune in because I'm sure as hell ain't sleeping.

100

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Heavy rain, wind picked up, hearing rumbling and banging noises, lights flickering, and it's 6:30 pm... yeah.

100

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Well it looks like I'm about to experience my first hurricane. Fuck.

010

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

This reminds me how some Silent Hill fans were upset at Silent Hill f for similar reasons, but had that game come out without the Silent Hill title, people would've been like, "This is basically a Silent Hill game". I feel the same about how Cregger's film looks so far.

010

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Yeah, I knew the statue in the back looked weird. The mansion's entrance hall definitely looked like it was green-screened. I also found it weird that they made Raccoon City into a small town. Like, I understand for budget reasons and whatnot, but why even call it Raccoon CITY?

100

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Another thing I see people praise about the film is the production design, and I don't know, a lot of it just feels underwhelming. I'm not sure if it's the post-production/compositing, but the shots of the mansion's main entrance and RPD lobby look really fake to me.

100

Killer Tune 41 @killertune41.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Also Jill did absolutely nothing in this film.
