finally sat down to work on starcake after husband's surgery (he's sleeping so well sobsob). improved the input manager, much clearer what buttons do what in the left panel. Player Profile now has suggested Actions, not just templates #gamedev #indiegamedev #indiedev #phaser #phaserjs

I'm really proud of the Input Manager. You pick from templates and can edit controls from there. there's diagrams that let you view/map buttons, and filters at the top for easier viewing. I tried to make the controls as agnostic as possible #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev #phaser #phaserjs

a little peek into the Animations tab for actors 👀 every actor comes prepopulated with a default Idle animation, and you can add more as you go (even custom ones!). custom anims are marked with a colored pip and you can rename them on the fly #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev #phaser #phaserjs

I started working on it a few months ago! But I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm an artist first and a much weaker programmer. I'm using Claude code to help me. Phaser.js is the renderer/API, it handles all the hard/important stuff, Starcake is just an editor wrapped around it.
