Jobs that do that are no fun 🥲 People need time off sometimes. PTO is great but holding any time off hostage for it is not the way to go.

I can imagine how much that sucks. Hubby works 24/7, so the second he gets home from the con with me, he has to work. I always feel so bad for him. I wish people were freer to take a day or two off to recover before needing to work again ;o;

The sympathy is appreciated. 😭👍 Con life is ROUGH...

110

Kiki - Read Kuro Shouri! @kikirini.art · 44m

....but I'm so tiiiiired 😭

110

Kiki - Read Kuro Shouri! @kikirini.art · 44m

(I love that con, but their 6 foot tables are EXPENSIVE and they don't offer two badges with it, only one. So it would cost me $250 for a regular table and hubby's badge. I'd rather it be $150 for a 4 foot table...but I have to figure it out before I apply.)

I found out this weekend that the con I was sure was cancelled is, in fact, still going to happen and get their artist applications up soon. Which means that even though I am exhausted, I need to get out my table and practice my 4-foot setup...sigh...

Yay! I rather enjoy drawing the little ponytail, haha 😁💖

I am suddenly rather curious: how does everyone feel about Hisaki's longer hair? I think only one person has told me how they feel about it, haha. If you hate it, you can still tell me - I promise I won't be offended! 😆 #kuroshouri

Our OC, Hisaki - a Japanese teenage boy character - with his more short hairstyle. My husband tells me it's a reverse mullet, lol.

Our OC Hisaki again, this time with his grown-out hair. His face is also a bit bloodied. PERSONALLY if you were to ask my opinion, I vastly prefer his longer hair! It's so much fun to draw!

Oh shit o.0 Sounds like someone did their research for that movie. Yeah, I can see that messing with someone!

010

Kiki - Read Kuro Shouri! @kikirini.art · 3h

OH NOOOO I would've been upset too if I'd seen that! 😭😭😭

010

Kiki - Read Kuro Shouri! @kikirini.art · 3h

There was also a comedy movie, I think it's called Young Einstein or something? In it, they try to bake live kittens into a pie. Sounds silly, and I'm sure it's meant to be, but it made me cry. My dad thought I was nuts! But I love kittens! 😭 Don't bake them into a piiiiie!

Kiki - Read Kuro Shouri! @kikirini.art · 3h

I do not remember the movie, but I was like 5 and my dad had something on where a man shot himself in the mouth with a gun, and there was a big splat of blood on the wall behind him. I had nightmares for days!

I'm seeing a few folks unaware during the whole "moving from Tapas to ComicFury" scenario that bears repeating: ComicFury does NOT have an app! Do not download whatever fake CF app is out there. CF has a custom-built mobile viewer on most of its hosted sites. Use the browser website!!

Thank you so much! And things did go very well! 😁💖

Anyway. Another person bought our first book. I'm motivated as hell to make volume 4! I gotta rest tonight and probably tomorrow as well, but then it's back to work!

020

Kiki - Read Kuro Shouri! @kikirini.art · 17h

Anyway, someone came by and said they bought our first book a few years ago. I asked what they thought and they said, "I don't really remember but I didn't hate it, I guess??" LOL. I guess that's good? 😆

And on a related note, parents PLEASE teach your children not to shove our merch in their bag before they pay 😭 As I just mentioned, theft from children IS a thing and even if it wasn't, we need to see and mark down what they buy!

120

Kiki - Read Kuro Shouri! @kikirini.art · 17h

We unfortunately did have our first theft, though. It was only a $5 mystery bag and we're pretty sure a child swiped it, so we're not furious about it or anything.

Day 2 went pretty well too! Honestly, we expected to walk out with maybe 20 dollars, since the economy is so bad. But we made table and then some! Really happy right now!

Kiki - Read Kuro Shouri! @kikirini.art · 04/10/2026

They didn't, and to be fair, they were waiting a while for volume 3 haha. BUT I'M GONNA DO IT 😆💖 Me too! I feel so much better about this now, before I was really feeling like that was it for my convention time... phew!

120

Kiki - Read Kuro Shouri! @kikirini.art · 04/10/2026

You should probably do both 🤣 This is what happens when my hand gets too powerful! I make crazy promises!! 🤣🤣🤣

Kiki - Read Kuro Shouri! @kikirini.art · 04/10/2026

I did grab it from Amazon, but it's just one of those unlucky times where the package gets lost for a while. Sucks, but I'll still be able to test them at next month's con at least.

120

Kiki - Read Kuro Shouri! @kikirini.art · 04/10/2026

Thank you! Do it for her, indeed, except it's all pictures of Yasha instead lol.

110

Kiki - Read Kuro Shouri! @kikirini.art · 04/10/2026

Also...I kinda sorta promised the person who bought volume 3 that I'd have volume 4 in a year...they didn't believe me when I said it, but dammit, I was being serious! Volume 4, ready to print, by the end of next year!!! Gonna do it!

My backup order of business cards came in at the literal last second, thankfully. The loops, on the other hand, got lost in shipping land and I'm not getting them until sometime next week. Which I am really bummed about, because there was someone shrieking CONSTANTLY and setting me off! 😭

Holy shit, after two terrible cons...this one's going okay actually??? We almost made table today! The sticker sheets are a hit and they might sell out! And best of all, someone who was waiting for volume 3 happened to show up! We were psyched to see that book go home with them! 🥰

Yeah, I'm a basic bitch when it comes to my rock music lol. And also I just love the Backstreet Boys 🥰 www.my9albums.com

My 9 albums - in my case, albums that I listened to a LOT during the years. Albums listed are: Evanescence - Fallen, Breaking Benjamin - Dear Agony, Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory, Backstreet Boys - Millennium, Blink-182 - Enema of the State, Disturbed - Ten Thousand Fists, Papa Roach - Infest, Story of the Year - Page Avenue, and Three Days Grace - One-X. These are all awesome albums and though not necessarily my favorite from each artist, I listened to them the most.

So. Even though I had terrible sleep last night, who wants to bet that I have insomnia once again before the con?? It always happens!! Sigh...🫠😭

We have set up for the con this weekend. Normally, I'd post a photo, but I was having a full on panic attack and didn't have my meds! 🥲 So we left pretty quickly. Gonna relax for a bit, then tend to the many texts and messages I got during setup. The one time I'm popular, I'm panicking lol

Awake at 4 AM again... poor hubby is sick so we've been up talking for a while. Which is nice and all, but I really need sleep before a con, dammit. 🥲

All that's left to do (for now) is get the rest of the 2005 version of KS converted to pngs and uploaded. Which is a huge task 🫠 And I also need to, y'know, work more on the remake so I can upload it here. Aaaaagghhhh 😭

Kiki - Read Kuro Shouri! @kikirini.art · 02/10/2026

More work on the self-hosted KS site. Now I've got a complete art gallery with dumb captions on every piece lol. ...I really should be resting. But I don't know how to not work. Send help. 🥲 kikirini.art/kuro_shouri/... #kuroshouri

I did get to draw! Got some work on a commission done and also sketched two pages of the comic. Today is the MOST productive, lol. ....I'm tired now 🫠
