This is an actively hostile act. Not only to everyone who is laid off, but to those who will watch/read in ignorance about the change thinking they are being informed.

Another great #BCAF experience this year. Lots of wonderful creators who took the time to share their enthusiasm with my niblet (their word choice) who was dialed to 11 the whole time. Being the "cool uncle" is a great gig & taking the wee one to their first con was loads of fun.

Sad news. What a great actor. Tim Curry had so many great roles. A small bit, yet his part in The Shadow (1994) was one of the best auditions for the Joker in a movie world that never was.

This. Know someone who does this with students as an extension of doing it for hospice care workers & patients as a way to "share the patients story". It robs students of the creative act, of synthesizing the information & expressing the information through their unique lens.

"...worth it?" Am going to go with "no" as the correct answer. Then again, I am not in the business of pretending there is a bigger problem with something already addressed in the budget to justify closings, other losses, bad mgmt, &/or caring about stock over people. So, what do I know?

Those pushing for ai in art, even if motivated solely by money, do not respect art and even less the artist. Even so, a lot of them recognize that art has power and in that they resent the artist while wanting to control the art and by extension the message.
