Oh, for the AWACs - which really shouldn’t be getting into these situations😅 - we made it that it gives a +1 to firepower & a +1 for target locks for all friendlies on the board. And its cost depends on how many friendlies there are at the start of the game.

I didn’t change much at all since VoidFighter is wonderfully simple & cinematic. Some things we renamed, e.g. “shield” became “tough”, “targeting computer” became “wizzo” for 2-seaters. I’ll post a pic of the planes we have statted so far…

T4: now 3🇯🇵on 1🇷🇺, the surviving Su-30, Zver, turns tail and accelerates out of there. Kage and Raiden pursue, Kage getting a lock just in case, until Zver is back across the border. Only 4 turns but it was extremely good fun and very cinematic. I cannot recommend #VoidFighter enough.👍

T3 shooting: “Too close for missiles, switching to guns” says Tora, and guns down Sokol. Grom damages Tora’s structure but 🇯🇵leader is still in the fight, though smoking. Raiden is about to gun down Zver at extremely close range but the Flanker does a Cobra & ends up behind the F-2! Kage guns Grom💀

Raiden, about to gun down Zver, swears profusely as the Su-30SM pulls a Cobra Maneuvre and decelerates rapidly, putting them behind Raiden next turn!
Really glad we had a chance to use that special move in this game😁

Kage takes out Grom with his guns at a difficult angle. Likely Raiden flies through the explosion!🤣

T3 movement: 🇷🇺leader Sokol, damaged, plays bait & flies out east. Tora takes the bait, follows but can’t get a lock. Zver & Grom form up on Tora’s six😬. Kage rolls to port, lining up a shot on Grom. Kage rockets under the Sukhois & an Immelmann brings him up on *their* six😎.

Shooting: Zero missiles Volk & downs him. Grom and Zver gun down Zero in return! Tora dodges Sokol’s guns with a Split-S manoeuvre, while Kage & Raiden fire on Sokol, damaging the Russian leader’s systems but not taking him out. Now 3-on-3 as we head into T3… Probably doesn’t look as tense as it is😆

T2: 🇷🇺 leader Sokol shows off his Su-30SM’s vectored thrust (turn before moving) and breaks with the rest of his unit, flying off to the left, trying to get a lock on 🇯🇵 leader Tora…and fails, ending up with Kage & Raiden getting locks on *him*! The other Su-30s stick together & get a lock on Zero…

The F-2s start in Finger-Four formation, the four Sukhoi’s in Echelon. 🇷🇺 wins initiative in T1 but everyone just advances as far as possible, the F-2s engaging their afterburners to close with the bandits. No one’s in range yet but that’s going to change next turn!😬

Oathmark: Whilst waiting for the Orcs to dry, I’ve done a bit more work on the Orc catapult. It’s a little taller than the initial version and I’ve added a counterweight to the front and a boulder, all ready to lob at some unsuspecting unit. Orc archer for scale. 👍

Not a whole lot of progress! Just getting the first coats on, & made an E-767 for scenarios. The F2s will be the typical two-tone blue, the Su-30SMs the naval grey scheme. Am I buying exactly the correct paints just to do some 1:700 scale aeroplanes? Hell no, I’m using what I’ve got. #voidfighter

Yes, I know it’s got a railing but that’s to stop figures getting knocked off 😬

Painted in various shades of grey with an occasional red bit. Lots of weathering, rusting and chipping.

Three quarter front view from down below showing the cab in more details. The crane extends off screen (it can rotate 360). There is a Bandai 1:72 AT-ST next to it to show the scale. The legs of the AT crane are from the Revell 1:52 I believe.
