Technically, I can't put these images in my #PaintedSkies project as they weren't shot from home (I may need to change the rules!) - but I couldn't not shoot these wonderful clouds while I was out yesterday. #Photography #Clouds #Abstract #Cloudscapes

Blummin' 'eck. Just phoned to cancel a household service plan that was suddenly renewing at £44/month. As a "valued customer", they could offer me the same plan at £19/month. Why the heck wasn't that the renewal price then!! "Valued" = cash cow, it would seem.

This spot was sheltered from the wind last night. But halfway to the first outcrop I could barely stand against the gusts. Off to the right, the sky and light were incredible, but there was just no way to get a composition safely. This was rather pretty though :) #Photography #Landscape

Looks like a promising sky for this evening, but blow me down (literally) it's windy. The trick will be finding a spot safe enough to get the tripod out. #Photography

Totally agree - the days I struggle most are when I can't find the right music. I'm never sure if it's because my mood is off (so I'm just going to be unproductive no matter what), or if I just haven't found the music that will focus me in that headspace.

Thanks very much :) it's a longer focal length than I'd usually go for, but the patch of cloud was the driving force behind it.

Last night's sunset from the #PeakDistrict was peaceful affair. Not much cloud around, but some very high wisps caught the light beautifully after the sun went down. The soft glow from the blue sky picked out the detail on the rocks, and in the heather and bilberry. #Photography #Landscapes

Ok, turns out it was a @spacex.extwitter.link Falcon 9 dumping fuel. What was very cool (to me) was that you could see the plume dropping into the earth's shadow (2nd pic)

One from last night's mooch in the Peak District, and realising how much I miss being out. There were some very lovely bursts of intense golden light at times which played wonderfully with the colours that were already in the landscape. #Photography #Landscapes #PeakDistrict
Golden light hitting the rocks and a gravel path with rocky edges in the distance. The Landscape already has its brown and fawn winter colours and the light only serves to intensify those tones.

Absolutely. I know I don't adventure as far as you, but if a place is already known, we don't need to tag it, and if not, we shouldn't :) that's my thinking anyway!

A close run thing - the whole selection process was, to be fair, but my winner this week is this abstract ICM by @theworldofmattp.bsky.social It grabbed my attention immediately, especially the hint of a face in the middle. Something unsettling, I think but in the best way.

Hi all - here's my top 4 for #ShareMondays2025 this week. I've tried to pick from a selection of genres... @theworldofmattp.bsky.social @stonesphotographs.bsky.social @markhether18.bsky.social @bulloch.photography Winner to follow later :)

This display is made up of 2700 objects of military equipment dating from the 17th-century to the 19th-century @markhether18.bsky.social LANGDALE GOLD

Some lovely light in Langdale from last week. Capturing moments like this is why I continue to love landscape photography and chasing the light. ‪@bulloch.photography‬ - In the corner of every boat yard there’s always one old boat rotting away, unloved and slowly disintegrating. I don’t usually photograph the boats in direct sun but I really liked how the light fell on its keel here.

'AI Destroyed the Digital Artist' (from our BLFC show) is based on the 80's hit by The Buggles. This parody is a modern commentary on AI art. In the same vein as the original, it's a reflection on how technological advancements can disrupt established creative artforms with sad consequences.

Still at sea, but I've started going through the many thousand images I've taken. Most are snaps, but there's a few that I'm really pleased with. This is Selsøyvik, just as we crossed the arctic circle. Seems so quintessentially Norwegian - at least to a tourist! #Photography #Landscapes #Norway
The small village of Selsøyvik - typical Norwegian red houses with grey roofs - with its small harbour and snowy mountains behind. The sky is coloured with the last glow of sunrise.

Thanks Sally! We're on the Havila Pollux which does the same route. It seemed very eco friendly with the ship design and approach to food and waste. But both companies are so mcuh better than the normal cruise lines - even just for the amount you see. It's been a wonderful trip! Havilavoyages.com

I promised some daylight shots, so here's a few from our passage through the Lofoten Islands yesterday. What a stunning place... #Photography #Landscapes #Norway #Lofoten
A view down Trollfjord - one of the narrowest fjords. The boat doesn't go down there in the winter, but evidently does in the summer. Golden light over an isolated mountain island. Close up of snowy mountain peaks against clouds, in soft blue hour light. A streak of pink clouds above the mountains of Svolvaer.
