We can all ban together, do mouth to mouth advertising even, but what can we do if the general audience isn’t interested in paying the ticket to watch the movie in cinemas?

000

Cris Carvalho @kicacris.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Important to note here that I had to convince my husband to come with us, because the trailers didn’t sell the movie to him, he felt the premise seemed good but didn’t like the vibe of the movie…but in the end he still didn’t like the movie…

Here in Spain we do have a lot of promotion for the movie in the streets but overall the general audience doesn’t seem interested? I try to do mouth to mouth advertising of animation movies among my Spanish normie friends but all I’ve got from them is they’ll rather watch it once is on streaming? :/

Cris Carvalho @kicacris.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

I mean, I should have known better TBH. The movie is about two teenage best friends who have to come to terms of getting separated because of college/migration/etc…of course the plot was going to fly over the head of my 6 yrs old who just got out of kindergarten 🤣 it’s not a Minions movie

I feel like, the studios aren’t really measuring right who are the target audiences for their animated movies anymore. Like, I felt the same way when we went to see Toy Story 5, the movie was clearly more for the parents watching it than for my kid (who grew very bored of the movie halfway thru it)

100

Cris Carvalho @kicacris.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Sad to admit but I did see more people with kids going to the Avengers Encore screening than the amount of people who were around me in Forgotten Island…and my kid didn’t like the movie (I did enjoy it but I feel like this was a movie more for me or teenagers/youngadults than for my 6 yrs old)

Now what the hell happened to the live action Zelda movie trailer?? Because that was an extremely disappointing update…and a very underwhelming tittle reveal I would say with a very lame “you’ll find out LATER why it doesn’t have a subtitle”…they didn’t even announce the rest of the cast???

All the new renders of the Ocarina of Time remake characters look way too overdesigned to my preference, but man did they forget to do a new design for the Master Sword??? Like??? That render doesn’t look like it goes with Link’s current art style, it looks way too plastic-y like the old designs?
