Also past traumas that made it feel like I couldn’t trust the definitely less crazy route for help. I still struggle with that tbh.

10). Having space from my mom. I can tell a lot of what she says and does is stuff that she doesn’t realize how backwards and toxic it is. It is normal and just in her mind. Any attempt to try to explain or defend myself usually results in her thinking I’m just upset or whatever cause I don’t want to admit she’s right or some bullshit. (I can admit when I’m wrong, thank you very much!) It took a while to realize this and some of the gaslighting is really just how she thinks and not a deliberate thing.
