I know the school officials here failed miserably, but I also want to note just how unprepared schools are for this. Realistically, the legal landscape here is not clear cut, and enforcement (at all levels) is abysmal. We're failing young victims in all sorts of ways.

All of these “gender tests” are state-sanctioned sexual assault. It is so inherently violating to have your body sized up so that someone can determine whether to violate your rights.

Barrett and other conservatives don't seem to see how state-sanctioned discrimination against trans people basically always takes the form of sex discrimination—imposing unique restrictions on people's rights based on their sex assigned at birth. Frustrating that the argument isn't breaking through.

i maintain that Elizabeth Anderson started one of the best genre’s of book review
a screenshot of the book Scrutinizing Feminist Epistemologya 1 star review written by Elizabeth Anderson in 2004 titled “Attacks Straw Men.” The text of the review reads:

"The reader's embarrassment grows, with each amazing example" of error, says contributor Gonzalo Munévar of Sandra Harding's work in feminist epistemology. This accurately captures my own reaction to this book, which is packed with flat misreadings of feminist epistemologists that cannot withstand the simplest tests of consistency with what they say, or that beat dead horses killed long ago by feminist epistemologists themselves.
No wonder some of the contributors go on for pages talking about what feminist epistemologists claim, without actually citing any of them, or with only the slightest documentation, sometimes even to the point of misquotation. Amazon.com forbids URL's in reader reviews. But you can find my full critique of this book on my website (accessible through the University of Michigan, Department of Philosophy).”
