iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

If you didn't already follow them, I guarantee that you'll find them both way more informative than the other local TV media.

I went to see what people thought about the Wilson budget today. I spent the day doing it. Just sitting there observing. Then at the very end, @cmdanstrauss.seattle.gov thought I might have something to add. "No thanks. I'm good" I said. I'm happy that he recognized my interest, though.

000

Seriously, you need to follow @ericacbarnett.bsky.social and @typewriteralley.bsky.social if you really want to know what's happening in Seattle.

170

On TV, maybe. But @publicola.com.web.brid.gy and @theurbanist.org are worth every penny if you want to support local impactful media.

150

They're might be a Brewer's lunch, but whether it's a Brewer's evening is yet to be determined.

000

Broken bat throwing a monkey wrench into the game... 😑

000

They get people out of cars. Do they interfere significantly with Metro operation?

BhTv sprouted from the former, no?

I didn't see the actual thing, but he's right. A stick is about $1. Yes, you buy 4 at a time.

The Hastert Rule lives on. The GOP loves it.

290

I feel like I spend most of my time on streets between 15mph and 50mph. There seems to be a gap.

000

Earliest I recall are the films we watched in driver ed about what happens when you don't wear a seat belt. I've worn one ever since.

I guess if there's only one straight woman left, you gotta keep her a secret....

I don't agree. I think Chait is describing a view that exists as opposed to his own personal view.

000

But Chait chose an angle and followed through on it. He didn't choose the angle you'd have chosen, but his take was the right take considering the angle he chose. A lot of people not reading the article are being led to believe he wrote something different from what he wrote.

Did you know you that you can survive several days in Italy eating nothing but gelato?

I'm only 1/3 of the way into it so far, but Man in the Mirror by Anand Giridharadas is really really good. He goes deep into the whole context surrounding the eventual encounter between Jordan Neely and Daniel Penny.

000

Can't spend the war chest where it counts, but still obligated to spend it.

000

LOL! More INTs than yards.

Mark Hamann @ki7bda.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Having read the article, I'm not sure I sure I agree with this framing.

000

In Texas in the 90's the staff would replenish your chips and salsa all the time. Then I moved to the PNW where it's like $5 for more chips and salsa. It's this still a thing in TX? I remember big garbage bins of chips being dumped into a dispenser that looked like an ice machine in TX.

Anno 1800. It's like SimCity with ships and a lot more micromanagement.

Am I the only one who gets an error on this link? And also at the website the link to the SDOT camera story? The other ones work.

000

You won't jinx it, but you might get an OD of hopium. I'll look, but won't let myself feel anything until the election results are in. And then until all winners are seated.

040

I'm happy with her. And I'm quoted in that article because I chatted with the reporter at a city council meeting.

000

TBH, if my initials were gdb, I'd lean into it, too.

I track beef, coffee, and chocolate prices. My car is still filled up at the rate of $.21/kWh.

I'm on top of Capitol Hill and didn't feel it.

Co-working space would be great. I'm tired of listening to other peoples' work meetings at the cafe.

CM Rivera claims to think that Focused Deterrence cannot fail, but can only be failed. It appears that she is trying to set up the notion that future failures are proof that Mayor Wilson chooses ideology over the lives of future victims.

We must never let him forget this

Iced coffee?! Fuck that shit! Pabst Blue Ribbon!

No! I will not acknowledge Nebraska as a Big 10 team! Culvers > Runza!

120

Missed this one... 😟 Next year...

000

This might be part of a plan to make things objectively worse for normal Americans to make them think the D's are mismanaging healthcare when the effects are felt and the D's control Congress?

040

Is there a glass for the Big 10 when there were only 10?

I never realized how much budget time in Seattle was so contentious. I'm paying a lot more attention now than I used to, though.

000

Seattle is going to be a worse place when @ericacbarnett.bsky.social is no longer reporting on this beat.

030

The insurance companies who have to pay staff to cash the checks of healthy people who are required to buy insurance in their healthy youth to cover older people--as they will need the young to do when they themselves are older? Seriously, this Oz position is bad faith and intelligence insulting.

000

One would hope he understands that since he is the the chair of the Transportation, Waterfront & Seattle Center Committee.

000

It happened in flyover state, so they just use a picture of the Wisconsin State Historical Society instead of Bascom Hall.

The ground rules of thinking out loud without being bound to anything they say is the magic. It's the most intimate show I watch and really brings us close to JVL and Sarah on a deep human level.
