The UK prime minister must use all diplomatic tools at his disposal to uphold international law. The extreme impunity on display by President Trump cannot go unchallenged. Leaders must protect civilians & prevent dangerous escalation. Not stay silent in the face of abhorrent violence and impunity.

President Trump has issued an open call to commit war crimes. Targeting civilian infrastructure and threatening to wipe out a civilization violate international law and the U.S. Constitution.

President Trump may not believe he is bound by laws, but he doesn’t speak for the U.S. armed forces. Service members are required to refuse unlawful orders. It may seem far away now, but before long, the U.S. public will demand accountability for the wanton killing of children and other civilians and disregard for the laws that protect them.

Oxfam will be among the many who demand that anyone who orders these attacks be held accountable.
