A proven open-source library brings real-world usage, a documented API, compatibility work, bug fixes and years of accumulated experience. It also prevents teams from generating and maintaining their own slightly different solution to a problem that has already been solved.

Love wearing this shirt when I travel… Had someone ask to take a picture at the Frankfurt Airport train station (at first in German, who then switched to English, but I knew he wanted a pic 😉).

A selfie where I’m wearing a shirt with the slogan “Stop Forcing AI Into Fucking Everything” surrounded by the text “Nobody Asked For It” on top and “Everyone Hates It” on the bottom.

More folks having fun with JitterTed's TDD Game! (Thanks to Arthur for facilitating!) And—again—new rule variations were invented! It makes me so happy to see how people play the game, seeing how it relates to their real work, and putting that experience back in the game.

Two of the players with Ted (creator) and Arthur (facilitator) smiling at the camera, after another fun round of JitterTed's TDD Game at the JCON Europe Mentorship Hub table. On the table are the game's hex tiles making up the board, and cards showing the "collaboration" mode for playing a variation.

Most companies underestimate vendor risk. Until it hits them. Java is different. Oracle leads. IBM, Amazon, Microsoft, SAP, Azul and others invest too. Not a single-vendor story. That’s why I recommend Java. If it’s on your roadmap, let’s talk. At XDEV, we help teams get it right.
