This is my most recent project, I've spent way too much time on it and it's not even a game. The premise is it's a simulation of a league of athletes that race against each other that can be left as an automated live stream to run forever. There's some other weird stuff going on too.

I hate modelling people

Had to give up debugging last night but left myself a reminder for when I came back to it

Many thanks to @computerjames.itch.io for putting this on and being a very lovely and encouraging fellow. Glad to have something else I've published and shown to everyone else. Looking forward to playing everyone else's submissions.

Lifts have buttons! They don't work yet but they look cool. #gamedev #indiedev #godot #screenshotsaturday

We have lifts! Or "elevators" to some of you out there. Not entirely happy with the up/down indicators, it's kind of hard to see which way they're pointing but I already spent too long on this. It took quite a while to get the textures looking how I wanted. #gamedev #indydev #godot

Quick experiment with something. #gamedev #blender #indiedev
Some low poly-trees and a house with a washing line. The textures looks like printed paper.

Any idea why I got 18 downloads yesterday on itch with only 2 views? Bit weird. #gamedev
Two graphs, one with a huge spike yesterday that is otherwise flat.

Added a pause menu to Skeleton Farmer. I originally liked the idea of people getting soft-locked then having to restart the game by quitting. It makes the game feel more broken and unintentional. Ultimately people just give up this is a hint to restart instead. #gamedev kheto.itch.io/skeleton-farmer

One of my goals with Skeleton Farmer was to just get anything finished. To that end I deliberately wrote some pretty horrendous code and just piled more bad code on top. Refactoring would only really help with a larger project and this is supposed to be small. Anyway here's some of the worst of it.
Screenshot of some code with highlighting. Huge nested if statements that all do basically the same thing, passing a string to a function.

The water textures under the map are just two overlaid marble textures I got off old asset CDs from the 90s. The effect works better when it's moving in the game but it's still quite glitchy. kheto.itch.io/skeleton-far... #ScreenshotSaturday #indiedev #gamedev #godot

First real game is basically finished, retro-inspired surreal farming game that is incredibly poorly paced. The goal was just to get anything finished and released that could reasonably be called a game.
