Finished Silent Hill Townfall. This game looks beautiful, and I enjoyed exploring the town. The atmosphere was just great! The story was pretty good as well. The stealth gameplay was overall ok, and it was tense af at times, but sadly some stealth sections were REALLY annoying.

At this point I basically have an infinite amount of games that interest me, and I will probably always have games to play until the day I die. Pretty dope.

Super excited to finally dive into a new Silent Hill game.

Finished Doom 64. The vibe of this game is very different from Doom 1 and Doom 2. Gameplay is still pretty much the same, but instead of sick metal music, Doom 64 goes for a really dark and much more atmospheric tone. It probably would've scared the hell out of me as a kid. 😅

Finished Get Even. At times it almost felt like a horror game with its tense and creepy atmosphere, which is where the game shines imo. The mysterious story and voice acting are also pretty damn good. The gunplay is fun and overall fine. The Corner Gun is pretty cool though.

Finished The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. It's so impressive what they managed to create despite the limitations of the good ol' Game Boy. It's such a beautiful world with charming, cute characters and a great soundtrack. I also liked how melancholic the whole game felt.

Just a bunch of games I've bought recently. It was only a matter of time before Expedition 33 finally found its way into my collection, and El Shaddai was on my radar for years now. I hope it's good. 😅

The Zelda itch is in full effect, so I'm playing Link's Awakening right now.

Still in an old Disney games mood, so I finished Alice in Wonderland. This is a pretty decent side scroller on the GBC, with a nice variety of levels, colorful visuals and neat animations. The final boss was a little bit of a difficulty spike, but it’s overall a rather easy game.

Finished Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue. I quite like the movie, so I'm very happy that its game adaptation is a solid 3D platformer. I enjoyed exploring the levels and searching for all the collectables. The only annoying thing was the camera movement sometimes.

The old Traveller's Tales' logo always hits me with nostalgia.

Finished A Hat in Time. Man, this game was just fun as hell. The levels are full of creativity and charm. The controls are very tight and responsive. Movement in general just feels really smooth. Hat Kid is such an adorable character. I love her silly little expressions.

Finished Super Mario Sunshine. It's such a mixed bag for me. I love the sunny vibe and OST, and some levels are legit fun, but others are unnecessarily punishing and feel like they were made as unfun as possible. It also didn't help that the controls felt very slippery at times.

Before the summer ends I want to beat Mario Sunshine. I played this many many years ago, and it absolutely did not click with me, but I want to give it a second chance. Maybe I will like it more this time.

Finished Syberia 3. It didn't feel quite as magical as the first two games for me, and I understand the hate for the weird controls and interaction points. I luckily didn't run into as many bugs as others apparently did tho. I still liked the story, and the music was beautiful.

Note to myself for future evening walks: Don't look through the windows of random electronics stores, because you might see some creepy stuff that will haunt you in your dreams.

Finished Kaze and the Wild Masks. A cool 2D platformer that takes a lot of inspiration from Donkey Kong Country. The masks are neat, each one adding a unique ability that keeps the gameplay fresh. The boss fights are overall fun, but kinda drag on a little too much sometimes.

Finished Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. It’s an amazing murder mystery story full of twists and suspense. Since it's a visual novel, there's A LOT to read, but the investigations and trials provide some small but neat gameplay elements to keep things engaging. The soundtrack rules too.

I'm in the mood to watch one of the greatest action movies ever made today.

Finished Cris Tales. Quite a charming little turn based RPG. It’s neat how you can use the time power mechanic during battles to shift enemies between their past, present, and future forms to trigger unique effects. The artstyle is beautiful, and the voice acting is also good.

My latest pickups are a nice little mix. I’m probably happiest about Alex Kidd in Shinobi World, since it’s one of my favourite Master System games.

Finished Mario's Time Machine (SNES). No platforming or Koopa stomping for Mario in this game, BUT there is a surfing minigame! It's an educational game, so you mostly just talk to people, gather information, and then fill out an essay about a historical person.

Finished The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I really enjoyed my time exploring Hyrule and solving its puzzles. I kinda get why younger me gave up on this game tho, because it can get surprisingly tricky sometimes. Music is phenomenal and easily one of the best on the SNES.

Next on my list is A Link to the Past. A game I played a lot as a kid, but always gave up on halfway through the dark world. Probably got lost and frustrated every time. 😅

Finished Beacon Pines. I like how it manages to be adorable and funny, but also pretty serious in the right moments. Story is intriguing, the art style is lovely, and unlocking words throughout the story and using them to change events is neat. Surprisingly underrated game imo.

Can't wait to meet these four weird dudes in the Ocarina of Time remake.

Finished Marvel Super Heroes. Another great Marvel fighting game from Capcom, but this time with a broader roster that spans the entire Marvel universe, and not just the X-Men. The new gem system is a fun way to gain temporary powers and abilities. The music is also pretty sick.

Just saw that it's already been 4 years since Stray released. I really liked this adorable little kitty game, and I'm still hoping for a sequel.

Finished Mouse P.I. For Hire. I absolutely love the 30s cartoon art style, and the jazzy OST is a highlight for me as well. Jack Pepper also really grew on me over time. There's a good variety of weapons, and the gameplay is overall very fun, but still gets a little repetitive.

Finished Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. Even though it's part of the Mario Land series, Wario Land has its own fun and quirky identity, and I just love it. It focuses much more on exploration and collecting treasure compared to the other Mario Land games.

The Mouseburg Edition of Mouse P.I. For Hire arrived today. The Mouseburg Edition includes: - Physical copy - Comic book - Soundtrack on vinyl - Poster - Card game - 3 postcards I can't wait to finally play this game.

Starting a quick little playthrough of Wario Land since it finally got added to NSO. I haven't played that game in at least 25 years, and I'm in the mood for some sweet nostalgia.

Finished Clash: Artifacts of Chaos. It is a surprisingly good action-adventure with a cool art style and amazing music. Combat is janky at times, but is overall fine. The characters and the story are also pretty decent. Navigation can be a bit annoying and confusing though.

Classic.

Finished Doom 2. It mostly plays like the first Doom, but has bigger maps and a bunch of new demons to obliterate. The city maps were pretty annoying, but overall it's just as fun as Doom 1. The music absolutely kicks ass once again as well.

Grabbed the Deluxe Edition of Plucky Squire. I really like this charming little game and always wanted a physical copy of it. The Deluxe Edition includes: - The Game - Artbook - Soundtrack

Finished The Legend of Zelda. Luckily I remembered a lot of the super cryptic nonsense that the game throws at you, but it was still really unclear at times. Even though it can be confusing, I quite like this game, and drawing the entire map on paper was actually pretty fun.

Chris @khalimerus.bsky.social · 20/06/2026
Finished Syberia 2. Something about the Syberia games just makes me feel calm. Maybe it's the beautiful OST combined with the gorgeous snowy wilderness. Some puzzles are quite obtuse, and some of the long, uneventful walks in big areas can make the game feel a little too slow.

Chris @khalimerus.bsky.social · 17/06/2026
Finished Crisis Core: Reunion. Zack is such a loveable dork, and the interactions between him and Aerith are just wholesome. Zack's bittersweet story will always hit me right in the heart. It looks great and the combat feels much better than it did in the PSP version imo.

Nothing makes me want to play The Legend of Zelda more than an extremely cheesy commercial from the 80s.

Finished Ehrgeiz (Arcade mode). I originally wanted to beat the Arcade Mode using only the Final Fantasy 7 characters, but ended up playing it through with the entire roster. It is pretty janky and far from the best fighting game ever made, but it still gave me some fun rounds.

It's nuts that it's releasing this year already.

Can't stop thinking about Final Fantasy VII today, so I might as well start a playthrough of Crisis Core Reunion.

Finished Castle of Illusion. It's a really good platformer on the Master System. It has tight, responsive controls, a catchy little OST, and some colorful, well-designed levels. There are some tricky parts near the end, but it almost never feels unfair or overly frustrating.

Chris @khalimerus.bsky.social · 30/05/2026
Finished Stranger of Paradise. Combat is where the game mostly shines imo, especially with the variety of jobs that keep battles fresh. The story was fine, and I quite liked the ending. Jack is such an edgy weirdo, which made some cutscenes awkward, but also really entertaining.

I bought a bunch of good old platformers recently. Banjo and Tiny Toons are some childhood games I want to replay soon. Ruff & Tumble (probably better known as 40 Winks) and Crash 2 are two games which I only played the demo versions of.
