Oh it was. It’s a once every 3-6 months splurge max. We just lucked out into kiddo care suddenly being offered tonight and jumped on it. That said, I have a soft spot for Costco burnt ends. And will happily eat taqueria food 3 nights a week.

Wife and I had a real date night tonight for the first time since kiddo#2 was born. It was excellent and I’m going to die later. For me: Lavender lemon drop cocktail. Mushroom caps. New York strip Shrimp Orange crème brûlée and salted bourbon chocolate cake split with my wife for dessert.

FWIW I have an allergy to saniderm, I just use tattoo armor (basically a big non-adhesive bandage) with medical tape for the first 24-48 hours after each session and had good healing. Though it does look like a trash bag taped to me….

I don’t use it for any creative endeavors. I hate that it’s permeated every aspect of life. I’m forced to use it at my job or I risk unemployment. If you have a technical background and a lot of experience it is very good at translating prose to formal logic and programs.

I’d like to think I’m pretty measured, and solidly anti-AI in its current forms. I even have a PhD in computer science and worked on the systems that are part of the AI pipelines. Trying even the slightest bit of nuance with technical understanding is still a guaranteed argument and follower loss.
